Brar Avoids Bigger Loss

With the turn showing KQ8J, Gursimran Brar in the big blind made it 250,000 to go. Hyunsik Nam on the button raised to 750,000 and Brar gave it some thought before he shook his head, then folded and exposed the 109 for the bottom straight.

Nam revealed his A10 for broadway.

Seung Hyun Han then opened the button to 200,000 and Nam came along in the big blind. Following the J88 flop, Nam check-called another 200,000 and then check-folded the A turn when Han pushed all-in.

Short Stack Double for Han

Gursimran Brar raised the button to 225,000 in an attempt to attack the severe short stack of Seung Hyun Han in the big blind. Hyunsik Nam called from the small blind and Han folded.

They checked all the way to the 10978J river on which Brar bet 225,000. Nam was flabbergasted for a second but eventually called.

Brar flipped over the Q9 for the queen-high straight and it won the pot, as Nam's 76 for an inferior straight on the board was no good.

Han then jammed for 645,000 and Brar folded a king. Han jammed the next button for 805,000 and Nam reluctantly called in the big blind.

The Q97J10 board gave Nam the wrong two pair, as Han made the king-high straight for the double.

Seung Hyun Han check-called the J87 flop for 200,000 against Gursimran Brar and then checked the 7 turn. Brar bet 500,000 and forced a fold. Brar later mentioned in the table chat he had flopped a set and turned a full house in this hand.

Han then raised to 200,000 on the button and folded when Hyunsik Nam jammed the big blind.

Nam limped from the small blind and Han checked to the 743 flop, then check-called for 150,000. They checked the 5 turn and Nam led the 2 river for 350,000. Han paid that off but mucked when he was shown the 64.

Nam Bounces Back With Quick Pots

Seung Hyun Han check-called a bet of 80,000 by Gursimran Brar on the A1086 turn and they checked the 7 on the river. Han showed the K6 and Brar tabled his A3 for the top pair.

Brar opened the next button and folded to a shove by Hyunsik Nam.

Nam raised his button to 200,000 next and was called both ways. On the K65 flop, it checked to Nam and his bet of 250,000 took it down.

Rush Hour for Brar

Hyunsik Nam put up a fight against the relentless aggression of Gursimran Brar in three-handed play and lost almost half of his stack as a result, then had to fold his big blind against two all-ins.

One of his min-raises from under the gun to 170,000 was called by Brar and they checked down the J10479 board for Brar to win the pot with the A4.

Two more jams later, Brar had further pulled ahead. Nam jammed once too and flashed his A6 by accident.

Shortly after the previous elimination, a battle of the blinds emerged between Hyunsik Nam and Ronn Mesina. The former bet the J75 flop to get called and then bet the 10 turn for 335,000. Mesina shrugged and pushed all-in for around 700,000 after a few seconds.

Nam double-checked his cards and then snap-called.

Mesina was drawing dead already to make the A river a formality and all of a sudden, the field was cut down to only three contenders.

Ivan Dela Cruz pushed all-in for the last 425,000 on the button and the action reached Hyunsik Nam in the big blind. He glanced at his cards, sighed and pondered about the decision for nearly half a minute before making the call.

Patrick Clarke raised to 140,000 and Gursimran Brar called in the next seat, which led them to the 765 flop. Clarke's check was followed by a bet worth 240,000 by Brar, who then quickly called the check-shove for around 975,000.

The J turn was a blank but Brar had many outs at his disposal with the treys, aces and hearts. One of them came with the J and Clarke was knocked out in sixth place.

Brar Is Running Away With the Lead

Gursimran Brar forced a fold from Hyunsik Nam to take ten big blinds of profit and then played against another South Korean in Seung Hyun Han. To the AAK86 river, Han checked and subsequently called a bet of 250,000 with the A4 for flopped trips aces.

"Flush," Brar declared and rolled over his Q7 to further extend his lead with now almost half of the chips in play.
