SCOOP 2021 Day 10: Joao "Naza114" Vieira Wins Nearly 600K in SCOOP Super Tuesdays

Joao Vieira

The headliner event for Day 10 of the 2021 PokerStars Spring Championship Of Online Poker (SCOOP) was the SCOOP-43-H: $25,000 NLHE [8-Max, Super High Roller], where arguably one of the toughest final tables in SCOOP-history was played. Ultimately, Joao "Naza114" Vieira prevailed over his fellow stars to add a SCOOP title and $469,987 to his honors list.

And what a night it would become for the Portuguese superstar, who didn't stop after the nearly half a mill windfall. Not only did he win the high version of the special Super Tuesday, in the medium version of the same event, Vieira nearly achieved one of the most improbable achievements in SCOOP history by finishing runner-up in the $2,100 version of this event.

Joao "Xungazz" Oliveira ultimately prevented that dream, but Vieira cashed an additional $110,697 to make it a night to remember. Oliveira received $145,456 for his big SCOOP win.

For mere card-slinging mortals, that would certainly suffice. For Vieira, though, it still wasn't enough to still his appetite as he also will be returning 2/9 in chips when SCOOP-48-H: $5,200 NLHE [Midweek Freeze] plays down to a winner on Thursday, with $157K up for grabs for the overall winner of that event.

While the spotlight was on the Portuguese for most of the night, there's plenty more to talk about from Day 10 on the SCOOP 2021 including Chris "Moorman1" Moorman's first-ever SCOOP win. As unlikely as it may sound, one of the biggest online winners of all time had yet to cross this one off his list, but finally did so in SCOOP-45-H: $1,050 NLHE [6-Max] to win $78,539.

Joao "Naza114" Vieira Wins SCOOP-43-H: $25,000 NLHE [8-Max, Super High Roller], $1.5M Gtd ($469,987)

One of the most successful players in PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker history continued his excellent run of results in the series as Joao "Naza114" Vieira took down SCOOP-43-H: $25,000 NLHE [8-Max, Super High Roller], $1.5M Gtd, winning $469,987 in a field of 71 entries.

It's the fifth title for Vieira in SCOOP and the second year in a row in which he's snagged a six-figure win in the series. Last year, he won SCOOP 33-M: $1,050 NLHE [8-Max, Progressive KO, Thursday Thrill], $1M Gtd for $186,422. Additionally, he was crowned Player of the Series in 2017.

This time around, he went from a short stack to winner after a topsy-turvy final table that saw some of the shorter stacks make it to the end while some who came in with bigger stacks fell early on.

In-Play Events

On Thursday, nine SCOOP events will play to their conclusion with SCOOP-48-H: $5,200 NLHE [Midweek Freeze] standing out as the biggest one of them all. A field of 157 players has been whittled down to the final nine hopefuls and, not surprisingly, Vieira is in the hunt for another major prize of $157,427 up top.

Besides winning and finishing second on Wednesday night at two tough final tables, Vieira found the energy to play himself to the final table of this event as well, sitting 2/9 in chips when cards will go back in the air at 5:05p GMT on Thursday. Dominykas "Mikensonas" Mikolaitis is the chip leader, while Daniel "Oxota" Dvoress and Francisco "Tomatee" Benitez are among the final nine.
