Sami Kelopuro

Day 5 of the 2021 Spring Championship Of Online Poker (SCOOP) saw 24 events crown their champions in what was one of the busiest days of the series so far. It was a fantastic day for Sami “Lrslzk” Kelopuro who won a $1,050 buy-in event and reached the final table of a $5,200 affair.

Finland’s Jussi “calvin7v” Nevanlinna secured a brace of titles, taking his combined SCOOP and WCOOP haul to a dozen titles! Here’s what went down on the fifth day of the $100 million guaranteed SCOOP.

Third Time’s a Charm For Elias “SinKarma” Gutierrez

Elias “SinKarma” Gutierrez took full advantage of being able to re-enter in the SCOOP-18-H: $2,100 NLHE 7-Max event, firing three bullets on his way to an impressive victory.

A total of 139 entries were processed, which wasn’t enough to hit the $750,000 guarantee, not that those who finished in the money minded.

David “dpeters17” Peters was the unfortunate soul who burst the money bubble, paving the way for such luminaries as Steve “Mr. Tim Caum” O’Dwyer, Aliaksei “ale6ka” Boika, and Aleksejs “APonakovs” Ponakovs to reel in some prize money.

$26,250 was the least any of the seven finalists could win. Andy “BowieEffect” Wilson banked this sum only a couple of days after becoming a SCOOP championship himself. Wilson’s fellow Brit Patrick “pads1161” Leonard joined him on the rail before Pavel “silentm0de” Plesuv busted in fifth-place.

Sami “Lrslzk” Kelopuro was the fourth-place finisher, a result worth a cool $60,000. Marius “DEX88” Gierse ran out of steam in third and won $82,500, the last prize not to weigh in at six-figures.

Heads-up pitted Gutierrez against Renan “Internett93o” Bruschi, and it was the former who clinched the title and the $174,375 top payout. Bruschi, while disappointed not to win, cannot be too disheartened as he collected $120,000.

Kelopuro Gets The Job DOne in the $1K 8-Max Turbo

Sami “Lrslzk” Kelopuro made amends for slipping up at the final table of the $5,200 NLHE 7-max event by coming out on top in the SCOOP-25-H: $1,050 NLHE 8-Max Turbo.

Some 390 players bought in to ensure the $225,000 guarantee was blown out of the water. It was the top 48 finishers who got their hands on a slice of the $390,000 prize pool.

A min-cashed was worth $2,130, but each of the eight stars who navigated their way to the final table locked up at least $10,431. That sum went to Samuel “€urop€an” Vousden who could not get going at the final table and was the first out of the door.

“takisxa”, “CrazyLissy” and Cristian “cstival” Stival were the next players heading for the exits, before Canada’s “roo_400” and “fkiw” of Sweden bowed out. The Swede’s exit set up a mouth-watering clash between Ukraine’s “Remi_Lebo_10” and the legendary Kelopuro.

Kelopuro rarely loses when he finds himself heads-up, and he did not lose this time. Victory came with a $70,557 prize, while the runner-up padded their bankroll with a $53,696 consolation prize.
