The $85 million guaranteed 2020 Spring Championship Of Online Poker (SCOOP) witnessed nine new SCOOP champions crowned on Day 2 on May 1.

PokerNews’s live reporting team is bringing you coverage of 30 SCOOP events throughout the series, so let’s start with a couple of these featured events first.

SCOOP-02-H: $2,100 NLHE 8-Max PKO Thursday Thrill SE

A first-time champion has been crowned in the 2020 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) Event #02-H: $2,100 NLHE and it was Jorryt "TheCleaner11" van Hoof, arguably the biggest name at the final table, that prevailed in a topsy-turvy affair to beat a field of 575 entries and claim the biggest slice of the $1,150,000 prize pool with a total cash of $176,104 ($88,834 in prizes + $87,721 in bounties).

By the time the heads-up stage was reached in the early morning hours in Europe, a Dutch victory was already locked up as Van Hoof battled with “0m3rta” for the title. The history of the late stages of this Special Edition of the Thursday Thrill showed as the progressive bounty of van Hoof was nearly five times as much as the one of “0m3rta”.

"Not much to do nowadays with quarantine going on," Van Hoof said to PokerNews.nl directly after his victory. "I feel so lucky as a poker player being able to stay at home and have a lot of fun playing these tournaments. I wish everyone who is in a tougher situation all the best."

The final table also featured Markku "markovitsus" Koplimaa (eighth - $24,262) and Jareth "jareth3542" East (ninth - $14,297), while Bertie "bigstealer" Bayley narrowly missed out and had to settle for 10th place.
