Nitsche Doubles Through Sontheimer

Level 9 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

On a flop of {J-Spades}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}, Steffen Sontheimer checked out of the big blind and Dominik Nitsche bet 20,000 for the size of the pot. Sontheimer moved all in and Nitsche called for his last 64,000.

"I think you got me," Sontheimer said and Nitsche nodded while rolling over {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}. Sontheimer only had {J-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and failed to improve with the {4-Clubs} turn and {K-Spades} river. The next hand, Martin Jacobson opened to 8,000 on the button and Sontheimer shoved for 65,000 in the small blind to get a fraction of his chips back when Jacobson folded.

Altergott Takes from Luca

Level 9 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Ivan Luca raised to 8,500 from under the gun and picked up a single caller in Max Altergott in the big blind. The German check-called a bet of 7,000 on the {A-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop before the {A-Hearts} turn was checked through. Altergott over-bet the {10-Hearts} river for 36,000 and forced a fold.

Adams Doubles Through Jacobson

Level 9 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Timothy Adams defended his big blind and check-raised all in for 41,500 on the flop of {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. Martin Jacobson, who had bet 10,000, quickly called and the cards were turned over.

Timothy Adams: {8-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Martin Jacobson: {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}

The {10-Hearts} turn and {4-Clubs} river changed nothing whatsoever and Adams doubled. He was somewhat surprised and said "I thought I was drawing dead."

Ramos Doubles Through Schemion

Level 9 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Adrian Mateos raised to 8,500 and Felipe Ramos moved all in for 78,500 from one seat over. Ole Schemion reshoved and after Mateos folded, the cards were turned over.

Felipe Ramos: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}
Ole Schemion: {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}

The board came {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Ramos held up despite a flush draw for Schemion to double right after coming back from the break.

Sontheimer and Mateos Bust; Second Break

Level 8 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Steffen Sontheimer

In the last hand before the break on each respective table, Adrian Mateos and Steffen Sontheimer were eliminated.

Mateos check-called three barrels by Max Altergott. Mateos faced the shove of the German on the {K-Clubs}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} river. With some 80,000 in the middle, Mateos eventually called with {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for trip tens but Altergott had that beat with {Q-}{J-} for a straight.

Over on the other table, Sontheimer check-raised a bet of 4,000 to 15,000 on the {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop and check-called the {K-Hearts} turn for 13,000. The {5-Spades} river completed the board and Sontheimer check-called all in with {10-}{7-} only to see Badziakouski roll over {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs} for a full house. "Makes sense when you bet 4,000 into the pot on the flop," he added before leaving the table.

The players are now on a 15-minute break and registration will close when the cards get back in the air.

Schemion and Jacobson Win Pots

Level 8 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Towards the end of the level, the pots seem to get bigger again and two participants that profited from that are Ole Schemion and Martin Jacobson.

On the {J-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop, Schemion check-called a bet of 5,000 by Ivan Luca on the button and the {10-Clubs} appeared on the turn. Schemion checked and Luca bet 41,000 into 26,000 to pick up a call by the German. The {5-Diamonds} river was checked and Schemion showed {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts} as winning hand.

Martin Jacobson bet the {K-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} turn for 20,000 into a pot of 25,000 and Mikita Badziakouski in the big blind check-called. The {J-Hearts} river was checked and Badziakouski showed {4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, which Jacobson had beat with {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}.

Big Bet Poker by Thorel

Level 8 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Ole Schemion opened the action with a raise to 7,500 from the cutoff and Jean-Noel Thorel three-bet from the small blind for 26,000. Schemion glanced at the stack of the Frenchman and called to see a flop of {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}. Thorel immediately bet 50,000 with around 100,000 behind and Schemion gave him a brief staredown before tapping the table and sending his cards into the muck.
