Sontheimer and Mateos Bust; Second Break

Level 8 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Steffen Sontheimer
Steffen Sontheimer

In the last hand before the break on each respective table, Adrian Mateos and Steffen Sontheimer were eliminated.

Mateos check-called three barrels by Max Altergott. Mateos faced the shove of the German on the {K-Clubs}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} river. With some 80,000 in the middle, Mateos eventually called with {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for trip tens but Altergott had that beat with {Q-}{J-} for a straight.

Over on the other table, Sontheimer check-raised a bet of 4,000 to 15,000 on the {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop and check-called the {K-Hearts} turn for 13,000. The {5-Spades} river completed the board and Sontheimer check-called all in with {10-}{7-} only to see Badziakouski roll over {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs} for a full house. "Makes sense when you bet 4,000 into the pot on the flop," he added before leaving the table.

The players are now on a 15-minute break and registration will close when the cards get back in the air.
