Wayans Wins Another

After a button raise to 2,500, Marlon Wayans reraised to 5,400 from the small blind. The big blind folded, and the button called.

The flop came {2-Spades}{3-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}. Wayans checked, his opponent bet 8,000, Wayans check-raised to 20,000, and his opponent folded. Wayans is now up to 57,000.

Channing Clipped

On one of the first hands after the dinner break, Neil Channing called an opponent's all in and wasn't in great shape with his {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} against the at risk player's {k-Clubs}{K-Spades}.

The board ran out {6-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{J-Spades}{3-Clubs}{J-Clubs} to see Channing double his opponent up, while slipping to just over 24,000 in the process.

We're Back

Cards are back in the air. A total of 2,095 players remain from our starting group of 2,924.

Two more two-hour levels tonight.

Dinner Break

Players are now taking off for the dinner break. A little extra time first for the color-up, then 90 minutes to chow down. Play should resume about 6:15 p.m. local time.

Tran Lays Down Jacks

An impressive laydown from Kenny Tran -- he laid down pocket jacks face up to an enormous reraise from Minh Nguyen.

"You're running too good," Nguyen explained, "I don't want to slow play."

Brown Bounces Back

Chad Brown
Chad Brown
Some days it's good to wake up and be Chad Brown. After slipping down to a short stack, Chad Brown has recovered nicely before the dinner break.

After checking the action, Brown then check-raised all in on a flop of {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Spades} for his last 12,000 chips. Brown held {A-Hearts}{6-Hearts} but was well in front after an ambitious opponent called with {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for the old no pair, no draw, queen-high.

The turn was the {4-Hearts} and river the {a-Diamonds} and Brown found a much needed double.

A few minutes later Brown was all in again after moving in over the top of a flop bet on the {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} board. His opponent folded and Brown gets himself up to 37,000 chips.

Little Big Chip Chips Up

Andy "Little Big Chip" Fields -- that's his name (really) -- cuts a striking figure here in the Amazon Room with his full Indian headdress. Fields was just now involved in a fairly wild hand in which the flop had come {J-Spades}{5-Spades}{A-Diamonds}, Fields pushed all in, an opponent went all in behind him, then a third player folded jack-five face up.

Fields' opponent had {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts} for two pair, but Fields had {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for trips. (Again, really.)

The turn was the {2-Spades} and the river the {4-Clubs}, and Little Big Chip now has 82,000.
