An under-the-gun player raised to 1,200 and three others called, including Scott Harris and David Saab.
The flop came down and everyone checked their option.
The turn paired the board with the . Harris was the first to bet and made a wager of 3,000. Saab was the only player to call.
The river was the . This time it was Saab who bet 5,000 and Harris raised to 12,000. Saab then reraised to 30,000 and this sent Harris into the tank.
Harris put his hands on his head and shook his head, saying, "I can only beat a bluff." He continued to shake his head and said, "I don't understand what you can have."
After a few moments, Harris folded face up.
Saab giggled with a comment from Bruce Buffer and is up to 170,000.
Jennifer Harman got it all in preflop and got one caller. Harman held and was a heavy favorite against the of her opponent. The board came out , and Harman doubled up to 95,000.
Preflop, a player in middle position raises to 2,000 and Evelyn Ng reraises to 5,000 in the cutoff. The button raises again to 20,000. The MP folds and Evelyn folds face-up. The button shows -- what else? -- . Evelyn has 74,000.
On a flop of , Brennan Hanson got it all in against Evan Woodington. The players showed:
Hanson:
Woodington:
Hanson had the second nuts, but Woodington was on a draw to the absolute nuts. The turn fell the to leave Hanson drawing dead. The meaningless hit the river and Hanson hit the rail.
Woodington is now a force with about 263,000 chips.
On a flop of , an early position player checked, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier threw out a pot-sized bet of 3,000 and the EP player called. The turn was the and both players checked. The river was the . The EP player checked, Grospellier bet 4,600 and the EP player called.
Grospellier showed for top two pair and his opponent mucked. "ElkY" is now up to 90,000.
The hand itself was pretty straightforward. Ramzi Jelassi raised preflop to 1,600 and got one caller before the action came to Phil Hellmuth. Hellmuth asked who raised, then upon being informed that Jelassi was the culprit, said, "You? I'm gonna reraise you," and reraised to 7,600. Action folded back to Jelassi who reminded Hellmuth of an earlier hand the two had played, where Jelassi put in the third raise preflop and then showed aces when Hellmuth folded.
Hellmuth started going on about how sick it was that he would have to fold this hand, and how the amateurs don't want to ever play after the flop. Finally, he did lay down the hand.
Jelassi chuckled an evil chuckle as the pot was pushed to him, then flashed his cards to the ESPN camera right behind him before mucking them. Hellmuth asked him if it was a bluff, and Jelassi nodded that yes, it was a bluff. Hellmuth's response was to suggest Jelassi would never win a bracelet playing like that.
A player on the button raised it up and Gus Hansen called from the big blind before the flop came . Hansen checked to face a bet of 3,200. He promptly raised it up to 15,000, enough to put the player all in.
The player called with and was up against Hansen's for an open-ended straight draw. The turn made a set for the all-in player but also a flush draw for Hansen.
The river came to make a flush for Hansen but it also paired the board, giving the all-in player a boat.
Jean-Robert Bellande raised to 2,000 and Howard Lederer reraised to 7,700.
"I don't think you'd make the same move twice," commented Bellande.
Bellande then moved all in and Lederer snap-called with . Bellande had .
The board ran out and that was the end of the line for Lederer.
Bellande mentioned something about wanting to celebrate the fact that his hand held up in a race situation, but went on to say he respects Howard Lederer and wouldn't do that to such a well-respected player.
Before the flop Carmel Petresco raised to 1,900 and the player in the small blind reraised to 4,000. "All in," Petresco said and her opponent immediately called. His had her crushed, and the status quo didn't change after the flop.
But on the turn, Carmel spiked the . "I'm sorry," she said as the dealer straightened the card on the felt, and when the river brought the the other player was eliminated and Petresco's stack grew to 107,000.
