Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Mike Telker - 7th place
Mike Telker - 7th place

Nicolas Fierro made it 42,000 to play from the cutoff with {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Michael Telker re-raised all in for 299,000 from the small blind with {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}. Fierro called and flopped a set when it came down {J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}.

Telker still had outs to broadway, but the {6-Spades} turn took some away. The {6-Diamonds} river sealed the deal, ending Telker's tournament in seventh place.

Metaal a Nonbeliever

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Govert Metaal
Govert Metaal

Leonid Bilokur raised to open the pot with {6-Clubs} {6-Hearts} in early position, and Govert Metaal defended his big blind holding {K-Clubs} {9-Clubs}.

Heads up, the flop came {5-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {4-Clubs}, and Bilokur continued out with 53,000. Metaal flatted with his flush draw, and the {5-Diamonds} turned. It went check-check, and the {6-Spades} completed the board to give Bilokur the full house. He bet another 126,000, and Metaal took pause. He was a nonbeliever, and he eventually made the call with king-high.

Bilokur showed the good, and the pot went his way.

Randy Lew Eliminated in 8th Place ($108,780)

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Randy Lew - 8th place
Randy Lew - 8th place

Randy Lew raised to 40,000 in the cutoff with {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} and Nicolas Fierro called from the small blind holding two mystery cards. With {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} in the big blind, Jason Koon three-bet to 120,000. Lew four-bet shoved for 816,000, Fierro folded, and Koon called instantly to put Lew at risk.

The {Q-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Spades} flop didn't offer Lew much help, but the {8-Spades} turn gave him a flush draw. The river was black, but it was the {2-Clubs} to end Lew's tournament in eighth place.

Koon's Bottom Pair Is Good

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Nicolas Fierro raised to 42,000 with {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} from middle position and Jason Koon three-bet to 91,000 from the hijack with {q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. Action folded back to Fierro and he called to see a {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop.

Fierro check-called 83,000 from Koon, landing the {J-Clubs} on the turn. Another check from Fierro led to a Koon bet of 176,000. Fierro spent a good three and a half minutes in the tank before opting to call, resulting in the {8-Spades} river. Both checked and no doubt Koon was happy to find his bottom pair was the best hand to win the big pot, upping his stack to about 2,227,000.

Fierro slipped to roughly 845,000.

Randy Lew raised to 40,000 in middle position with {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} and Jason Koon three-bet with {q-Spades}{7-Spades} to 86,000 on the button. In the big blind, Govert Metaal looked down at {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs} and four-bet to 230,000. Lew quickly shoved for 372,000 total, Koon folded, and Metaal called to put Lew at risk for a second time.

The {A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop paired up Lew to give him the lead. The {Q-Hearts} turn and {5-Hearts} river locked up the double for Lew, giving him 864,000. Metaal slipped down to 608,000.
