Seven Card Stud
Josh Arieh: XxXx/J♦6♣8♠2♠/Xx
John Veltri: XxXx/Q♦2♣A♠3♦/Xx
John Veltri completed and Josh Arieh called.
Veltri bet on fourth street and Arieh called. Veltri bet again on fifth, but this time Arieh raised. Veltri called.
Arieh bet on sixth and Veltri called down to seventh, where Arieh bet again. Veltri took a minute before calling, and Arieh turned over 10♥6♦6♠ for trips to win the pot.
Razz
David Bach: XxXx / 4x6x2x
Josh Arieh: XxXx / 2x2x8x - folded on fifth street
Bach had already dragged a couple Razz pots, one on third with a resteal and one on fourth with a favorable board.
This hand, Arieh completed, Bach raised, and Arieh called.
Bach led fourth after Arieh paired, but he wanted to see another card. Arieh conceded on fifth, and Bach finds some breathing room once again.
Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better
David Bach raised in the small blind and Robert Mizrachi called in the big blind.
The flop came 5♠Q♠Q♣ and Bach bet. Mizrachi called, and they both checked the 7♥ turn.
Bach then bet on the K♠ river, and Mizrachi folded.
Limit Hold'em
Nicolas Milgrom raised from the hijack, John Veltri three-bet from the small blind, Nicolas Milgrom raised all-in for a little more, around 200,000, and Veltri called.
Nicolas Milgrom: 7♠7♦
John Veltri: A♥10♥
It was a coinflip scenario until the 10♠9♥3♣ flop vaulted Veltri into the lead after he paired his ten. Nothing changed on the J♣K♦ runout, and Milgrom's run ended in seventh place.
Limit Hold'em
Yannick Jobin raised in middle position and Josh Arieh three-bet in the cutoff. Jobin then four-bet, and Arieh called.
Both players checked the K♣10♥2♠ flop. Arieh then bet on the J♦ turn, and Jobin called.
The 3♦ river was checked down, and Jobin turned over A♥A♣ to win the pot.
"Aces are a good feeling, isn't it?" John Veltri said to Jobin after the hand.
Limit Hold'em
Josh Arieh raised from the small blind and Calvin Anderson defended his big blind.
The 6♦5♣3♦ flop checked through to the K♦ turn which saw Arieh check again. Anderson bet, Arieh raised, and Anderson called.
On the A♣ river, Arieh led a final time, sending Anderson into a small tank. He eventually slammed calling chips into the middle, only to be shown the A♠7♦ of Arieh, who was bluffing with a gutter and diamond but rivered top pair. Anderson scoffed at his bad luck, indicating that a non-diamond ace or four were Arieh's only outs.
In the 977th episode of the PokerNews Podcast, which is sponsored by FanDuel Poker, Chad Holloway and Mike Holtz are joined at Level 9 Studio in Las Vegas by a pair from the UK in Grosvenor Poker's Katie Swift and Philip "The Tower" Heald.
The quartet discusses the recent high-profile bet between Phil Hellmuth and Shaun Deeb, one involving the former's son, Phillip "P3" Hellmuth III, and the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event. Deeb stands to win $14,000 max, while Hellmuth could potentially win $10,000,000! It's an extremely long shot, but what do you think?
From there, the crew looks at a pair of game-changing hands. In the first, Dario Sammartino shared on social media that an automatic shuffler has apparently sorted the cards, which resulted in two very similar hands, and in the other, a dealer error resulted in the final two players in the COLOSSUS being dealt the wrong cards in the first hand of heads-up play. No one noticed in real time, and the tournament ended as a result.
Other topics include changes to the Poker Hall of Fame, The Tower advocating for Barny Boatman and John Duthie to be inducted, and a look ahead to Grosvenor Poker's famed GOLIATH, which will run July 23-August 2. Finally, don't forget to order your Think Jerky here!
Find out all about those stories and more in this week's episode of the PokerNews Podcast! Oh, and be sure to check out the audio version of the PokerNews Podcast that is available on all major podcasting platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and SoundCloud.
Stud Hi-Lo
John Veltri: XxXx/6♥4♥A♠K♠/Xx
Nicolas Milgrom: XxXx/3♥4♦10♦Q♠/Xx
"Aces and kings the first four. And then I squeezed a no-side on seventh. I probably went one too many bets there," John Veltri said, still recounting the massive pot against Josh Arieh.
He then completed and Nicolas Milgrom called. Veltri continued with bets on fourth and fifth streets, and Milgrom called.
Veltri bet again on sixth, and Milgrom called. Veltri threw out a bet on seventh without even looking at his card, and Milgrom quickly tossed away his cards.
