Day 2 Action

Out of a starting field of 627, 95 made the money which included Joao Simao, Kristen Foxen, and Michael Moncek. While several notable players would not walk away with the $19,999 minimum cash would include Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey, Alex Foxen and Chance Kornuth.

Stephen Chidwick bagged 1,300,000 after a strong finish to Day 2. Chidwick was everyone's favourite person as he busted Barry Woods on the stone bubble, Woods decided to four-bet shove king-queen for 500,000 chips but ran into Chidwick’s kings. This pot took Chidwick to over 1,000,000 chips for the first time in the tournament.

Robert “BJP” James is among the players still chasing their first WSOP gold bracelet, and can also surpass his career-best score with a top-four finish. Terrance Reid will also return tomorrow, June 3 at noon chasing his first bracelet. Reid is no stranger to performing under bright lights, as he final tabled the $25,000 WSOP Paradise Super Main Event in the Bahamas in 2025 giving him his best lifetime score of $3,000,000.

Hamlet Busts Park

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Brandon Hamlet opened to 40,000 from early position before Christopher Park jammed for 130,000 on the button.

Hamlet called to put Park at risk.

Christopher Park: AKAll in
Brandon Hamlet: 55

The Q99 flop gave Park some counterfeit outs, but the turn was a decisive one when the 5 peeled to give Hamlet a full house.

The meaningless 2 came on the river to eliminate Park from contention.

Shak Sent Home After Brutal Runout

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Joey Weissman
Joey Weissman

Dan Shak raised to 30,000 from late position and Joey Weissman in the small blind put in a three-bet to 120,000. The big blind got out of the way and action was back on Shak, who put in another raise to 400,000.

Weissman took his time to go over his options before going all in, covering Shak. Shak quickly called putting his entire 1,005,000 stack on the line.

Dan Shak: AK All in
Joey Weissman: KK

The Q6A flop gave the advantage to Shak, leaving Weissman only with runner-runner outs or the case king. The tables turned yet again on the K turn, leaving Shak with only one out since one of the two aces were folded pre flop.

The river was the insignificant Q and Weissman eliminated Shak in one of the biggest pots of the tournament so far.

Hrabec Folds to Martinez's Double Barrel

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Alexis Cruz Martinez raised to 40,000 from middle position and only Roman Hrabec called from the big blind.

Hrabec started with a check on the 10A5 flop, and Martinez fired a continuation-bet for 50,000. Hrabec called.

A second check came from Hrabec on the 2 turn. Martinez placed out a bet, and Hrabec snap-folded.

Triple Up For Eychenne

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Thomas Eychenne
Thomas Eychenne

The action started with a raise under the gun to 30,000 from Chad Lipton before Thomas Eychenne put his remaining 275,000 chips in the middle.

It folded to Jesse Lonis on the button who flat called. It wasn't over with the action yet, however, as big blind Santiago Plante looked down at his hand and moved all in for 980,000 and Lipton wasted no time folding. Lonis quickly called covering both Plante and Eychenne.

Thomas Eychenne: 1010 All in
Santiago Plante: AK All in
Jesse Lonis: AK

The board ran out clean for Eychenne as the dealer put down QQ278 meaning Eychenne tripled up while Plante and Lonis chopped up the rest of the chips.
