Carlos Caldas fired a bet of 22,000 on a flop of 3♥5♥J♦, which Leo Norton called.
The Q♥ turn and Q♠ river were both checked through and it was revealed that the two players had the same hand: Caldas flipped A♠3♠ and Norton turned over A♣3♣.
Jason Campbell got all of his chips in the middle preflop with the best starting hand in hold'em against Philippe Souki, but things didn't pan out the way he imagined.
Philippe Souki: Q♥Q♠
Jason Campbell: A♦A♣
Everything was going smoothly for Campbell until a queen on the river saw Souki snatch the pot away from him at the last possible moment on the 5♣7♥9♠3♣Q♦ runout.
Dimitar Danchev raised to 11,000 and was called by Jeremy Ausmus before Philippe Souki three-bet to 45,000. Danchev then shoved all in for 258,000, which got Ausmus to fold, but Souki snap-called.
Dimitar Danchev: A♥10♥
Philippe Souki: K♥K♣
Souki had just doubled up and was now a commanding favorite to eliminate a player with his pocket kings. However, the dealer had other ideas for Souki as the runout of 3♠A♣8♥8♦A♦ improved Danchev to a full house.
Grant Wang in middle position and Michael Lee in the big blind were at a 2♠A♣3♣ flop when Wang raised the stakes to 9,000.
Lee called taking them to a 7♠ turn.
Both players checked to the 7♦ river and Lee bet 16,000 which got a snap-call from Wang.
Lee showed pocket tens which were up against Wang's pocket jacks. Wang narrowly scooped the pot, building him up to sit on just over double starting stack.
Lee doubles up through Salim Admon just a couple of hands later.
Jamie Dwan put in a raise of 12,000 from the cutoff and Landon Tice defended in the small blind and Alex Keating also called in the big blind. The flop was 6♠K♠Q♦ and Tice bet out 10,000, Keating folded and Dwan called.
The rest of the board, turn 10♠ and river 4♣, were both checked. Dwan mucked after Tice turned over K♥5♥ for the pair of kings.
A board of 8♠7♦7♣10♥K♥ was laid out on the table and with around 70,000 chips in the middle, Erick Lindgren fired a bet of 30,000 into his opponent. Vitor Dzivielevski gave it some thought before eventually electing to call.
Lindgren tabled J♦10♣ for a turned pair of tens, and Dzivielevski mucked.
Salim Admon moved all in from the hijack with 42,000. Justin Chan called from the small blind and Henrick Brockmann followed with a call from the big blind.
The K♥8♥5♠ flop prompted a check from Chan and a 31,000 bet from Brockmann.
Chan and Brockmann both checked on the 3♥ turn and the dealer brought a 6♣ river.
Chan bet 75,000, which made Brockmann go into the tank. After a little while, Admon called the clock and Brockmann threw his cards to the dealer, giving up on the hand.
Salim Admon: AxQx
Justin Chan: 8x8x
Chan took a chunky pot, having flopped a set, and Admon was knocked out of the tournament.
Joe McKeehen was all in from the small blind for only 3,000. There had been a raise and a three bet in front that left him heads up against Nicolas Vayssieres.
Joe McKeehen: Q♠10♥
Nicolas Vayssieres: A♠J♣
The board was safe for Vayssieres as it rolled out 6♠6♦4♠4♣ but the river rewarded McKeehen the pot when the Q♦ fell.
Hand #2:
McKeehen ended up folding until it was his big blind. Charles Honkonen raised to 10,000 under the gun. Espen Jørstad and Nicolas Vayssieres both called. McKeehen went all in for only 2,000 more and everyone called.
The flop was 6♣2♠10♠ and it checked around. The turn was the 5♣ and it checked to Vayssieres who bet 44,000. He got a call from Honkonen and Jørstad folded. The river saw the 7♣ check through.
Vayssieres: J♥10♠
Honkonen: K♥10♦
Honkonen's hand was good for the side pot but McKeehen said, "Do I have to show?" before turning over A♣K♣ for the nut flush, getting his stack up to 54,000.
