Obst Cannot Scoop Against Volpe

Level 18

Badacey

James Obst three-bet out of the big blind and earned a call from Paul Volpe. Obst discarded three versus two and one bet each went into the middle. Obst discarded one versus two on the second draw and was then all-in for 35,000, Volpe called.

Obst patted the final draw and Volpe took two new cards again.

James Obst: 52 / 43A
Paul Volpe: 542

Obst had a three-card Badugi and Volpe peeled the K to make a Badugi, earning the chop regardless of the K as his final card.

James Obst: K84 / 798K
John Hennigan: Q54 / 439J
Scott Bohlman: AQ3 / 2J53

Obst was then all-in on third street and John Hennigan raised, Scott Bohlman called. Hennigan bet fourth as well before the two active players checked down the remaining streets. Obst won the high pot while Hennigan prevailed in the side pot to take a small chunk out of Bohlman's stack.

"Chad, I will literally jump across the table and strangle you," replied Gorodinsky.

Siegel Quartered in Massive PLO 8 Confrontation

Level 18
Jordan Siegel
Jordan Siegel

Pot-Limit Omaha 8 or Better

Ryan Goindoo opened to 30,000 on the button and Jordan Siegel three-bet to 100,000 in the big blind. Goindoo responded by four-betting to 290,000 to send Siegel into the tank as Chad Eveslage and others made note of the massive hand forming.

"This is an action game!" commented Dustin Dirksen. "Let's play this the rest of the way."

Siegel called and then led all in for 438,000 on the flop of 5K8. Goindoo got a count and confirmed the pot before calling with a bigger stack.

Jordan Siegel: AAJ10
Ryan Goindoo: AAJ7

Both players had aces and Siegel had a flush draw to go with it before the board finished out 63 to give Goindoo a low to quarter Siegel as the two chopped the high.

The two discussed the hand as the dealer pushed Siegel his remaining chips and shipped the rest to Goindoo.

"There's 600,000 in the middle. How can I fold? I don't think either of us could fold there," Goindoo said.

"If there's a hand you could fold, you had it," Siegel replied.

"You think so?"

Dutch Boyd: 9x8x6x5x3x
Paul Volpe: 7x4x3x2x

Zack Freeman

Big O

Mike Gorodinsky raised to 25,000 and Zack Freeman in the small blind reraised the pot for 85,000 total. "You play like 400k?" Gorodinsky inquired and then called. They got it in after the 544 flop via check-shove by Freeman and Gorodinsky called with the slightly superior stack.

Zack Freeman: AKJJ2
Mike Gorodinsky: A8632

When the turn brought the K, Gorodinsky sighed an "not like this" and he indeed bricked it all on the 5 river.
