Eight-Seven Smooth for Volpe

Level 19
Paul Volpe
Paul Volpe

No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw

In a heads-up pot, Paul Volpe drew two and Marco Johnson drew one before Volpe checked and Johnson bet 52,000. Volpe sat still and went in the tank before announcing all-in for about 250,000. Johnson then went in the tank before calling.

Volpe showed 87432 for an eight-seven smooth and it was good to win the pot as his opponent mucked in defeat.

Stud Hi-Lo Regular

Scott Bohlman: 1074 / 76A5
Marco Johnson: 543 / 9262

Picking up the action on fifth street, Scott Bohlman bet and was called by Marco Johnson, who then paired on sixth. Bohlman bet again to earn a call and bet seventh with a few chips behind. Johnson raised and Bohlman gasped a brief smile before he moved forward the chips, seemingly knowing that his fate had already been sealed.

Johnson announced a straight and showed his six to go with it, while Bohlman's seven-six couldn't earn a chop.

Dustin Dirksen

Pot-Limit Omaha 8 or Better

Dustin Dirksen raised to 30,000 in middle position and Ryan Goindoo three-bet to 95,000 in the big blind. Dirksen called.

Goindoo bet 200,000 on the flop of 1042 and Dirksen quickly called. Goindoo then moved all in on the 7 turn as Dirksen snap-called off with 664,000.

Dustin Dirksen: AKKQ
Ryan Goindoo: AA44

Dirksen had turned a flush to be in front of the set of fours of Goindoo and the 9 bricked off on the river for Dirksen to scoop one of the biggest pots of the tournament so far to double into the chip lead.

Small Boost for Goindoo

Level 18

Badeucey

Ari Engel defended the big blind against a raise by chip leader Ryan Goindoo and they both discarded two each. Engel check-called a bet and that led them to the second draw, on which he discarded two versus one and quickly checked again. Goindoo bet and that won the pot right there.

Hennigan Picks Wrong Game; Falls Behind Bohlman

Level 18
Scott Bohlman
Scott Bohlman

Badacey

James Obst was all-in after the first draw against John Hennigan and both discarded two each. On the final draw, they took one each and revealed the cards.

James Obst: 543A
John Hennigan: 6 / 532

Hennigan needed the A to scoop and knock out Obst but instead received the 7 to chop, as the J for Obst made the worse A-5 hand.

"I shouldn't have picked this game," Hennigan sighed and then attempted to knock out Scott Bohlman next.

On the final draw, they discarded one each and the cards were flipped over.

Scott Bohlman: 6 / 54A
John Hennigan: 7652

Bohlman spiked the 7 to pull ahead and Hennigan paired up with the 6 for Bohlman to double.
