Hachem Slow and Steady

Level 23 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Daniel Hachem
Daniel Hachem

The cameras have been hovering around Daniel Hachem's table for most of the day with much of the focus on Hachem for obvious reasons. While they wait for something major to happen, Hachem continues to quietly go about his business and slowly increase his stack with each level that passes.

Recently, Hachem raised it up to 90,000 in early position and was called by Jaysun Petruce on the button. The flop fell {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and Hachem led out for 80,000. Petruce called and the {j-Clubs} landed on the turn.

Hachem splashed in another bet of 200,000 and Petruce decided to let his hand go. Hachem pulled in some more chips and is now over 4 million.

Furth's Thin Value Shove Backfires

Level 23 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Caleb Furth bet 375,000 from under the gun on {4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{6-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and Kartik Ved made the call a couple of seats over. On the {k-Clubs} river, Furth counted out his stack, which looked to be 855,000. He announced all in and Ved immediately called.

"You win, then," Furth said, tabling {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, beaten by {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} for a turned set.

"Good try, man," someone said. "Love the heart."

"I wasn't bluffing," Furth said. "I just know I lose when he snap-calls."

Quads for Gieles Overpowers Madsen

Level 23 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Pim Gieles
Pim Gieles

Jeff Madsen opened to 90,000 in middle position and Pim Gieles called from the cutoff. The flop came {6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Madsen continued for 85,000 which Gieles called.

The turn was the {k-Hearts} and Madsen checked this time. Gieles tossed in a bet of 225,000 and Madsen stuck around for the {3-Spades} on the river. Madsen checked again and Gieles put together a bet of 600,000. Madsen thought for a couple of minutes before flicking in a chip to call. Gieles showed {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} for quads and Madsen's cards hit the muck.

Ajayi Continues His Hot Run

Level 23 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Adedapo Ajayi saw action folded to him on the button and he opened to 110,000. Nicholas Marchington defended his big blind.

"Not good enough to three-bet?" Ajayi asked.

"No, not this time. I'm going for the trap this time," Marchington responded.

The flop came {8-Hearts}{2-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and both players checked. The turn was {6-Clubs} and Marchington bet 150,000. Ajayi peeled and the river came {k-Diamonds}. Marchington put two T$100K chips out and Ajayi announced a call.

Marchington tabled {8-}{4-}-suited and Ajayi jovially turned over {k-Spades}{q-Spades} to show the kings up he had just made and rake in the pot. With the hand, Ajayi finds himself over nine million in chips and is one of the top stacks among the 21 tables worth of players still alive in the tournament.

Level 23 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

A player in early position opened for 80,000 and Carl Shaw made it 250,000 a couple of seats over. Shaw's opponent peeled and {6-Hearts}{q-Spades}{3-Clubs} flopped. Shaw bet another 250,000 and they went to the {6-Diamonds} turn. Shaw's opponent checked and Shaw didn't slow down, backing up his flop bet with another 675,000. This time, he scooped up the pot uncontested.
