Maxwell Troy brought in and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier raised with Troy defending. Troy led out on fourth when he made an open pair of sixes and then bet again on fifth before both players checked on sixth street. Troy fired again on seventh and ElkY made the call.
Troy showed for kings up but ElkY turned over for a better kings up to bring his stack almost level with Troy's.
The Frenchman who has never played a stud tournament before seems to be doing pretty well so far.
In the first hand following the dinne break, a short-stacked John Hennigan brought in, Steve Landfish completed, Hennigan raised, Landfish re-raised and Hennigan called. On fourth, Landfish bet and Hennigan called. On fifth, Landfish bet again and Hennigan raised all in. Landfish made the call which put Hennigan’s tournament life at risk. Landfish was ahead with a higher two pair but Hennigan picked up a diamond flush draw on sixth. Before he looked at his last card, Hennigan said “no black paint” but unfortunately for him, that’s exactly what it was as he turned over the which was of no help to him and he was eliminated. This means that whoever wins will be a first time bracelet winner.
John Hennigan brought in and called after Steve Landfish completed. Hennigan called Landfish’s bets on fourth and fifth and on sixth raised him. Landfish came back with a re-raise and Hennigan just called. On seventh Landfish bet once more and Hennigan made the call only to be shown for the full house of Landfish.
Hennigan’s stack continued to drop in the following hand.

Maxwell Troy completed and called after Hennigan raised. Troy check-called Hennigan’s bet on fourth. Troy bet on the three remaining streets with Hennigan making the call each time. Troy showed for kings up and Hennigan showed for a pair of aces before he mucked.
Hennigan lost two more small pots afterwards as his stack continued to dwindle.
John Hennigan brought in and then called Grospellier's completion before check-raising on fourth. Grospellier made the call before both checked fifth street, Grospellier then bet sixth which was followed by a Hennigan call, before both checked seventh. Grospellier showed for nines and sixes to win the pot.
Maxwell Troy completed and John Hennigan made it two bets, calling when Troy made it three bets. Hennigan called Troy down until seventh where the latter announced he was checking dark, Hennigan checked behind and showed for a missed combi-draw but rivered two pair. Troy showed for a better two pair to scoop the pot and move up to 1.35 million
Alexander Kostritsyn had just managed to double up when his kings held against Steve Landfish’s tens but Kostritsyn was soon all in again and at risk.

Kostritsyn was all in and ahead on fifth with a pair of kings against the queens of Maxwell Troy. Sixth didn’t improve either player but Troy hit the worst card that Kostritsyn could have asked for on seventh, the to give Troy trips. Kostritsyn was down to two outs for his tournament life, one of the two remaining kings. Unfortunately for him, he didn’t hit a king and was eliminated while Troy crossed the million chip mark.
