Landing On His Feet

Level 22 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Landfish: {x-}{x-} / {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{J-Spades} / {x-}
Kostritsyn {x-}{x-} / {J-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{4-Clubs}{6-Spades} / {x-}

Steve Landfish completed and Alexander Kostritsyn made it two bets (which Landfish obviously called, otherwise this would be a very short hand). Landfish paired his door card and fired out a double bet before betting on fifth and sixth too, Kostritsyn called him down but both checked on seventh.

Landfish showed {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades} for two pair and Kostritsyn nodded, mucking.

Landfish Loses Another

Troy: {x-}{x-} / {6-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} / {x-}
Landfish: {x-}{x-} / {K-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades} / {x-}

Maxwell Troy had the bring-in and Steve Landfish raised with a king with Troy defending. Landfish proceeded to check-call bets on fourth, fifth and sixth street before firing out on seventh. Troy quickly called this final bet and Landfish mucked saying, "I missed,"

Troy flipped {J-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{Q-} for jacks and sixes to take the pot.

ElkY Growing

Level 21 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Grospellier: {X-}{X-} / {3-Clubs}{J-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts} / {X-}
Troy: {X-}{X-} / {A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} / {X-}

Bertrand Grospellier completed and called after Maxwell Troy raised. Both players checked fourth and fifth until Troy bet on sixth and ElkY called. Troy bet seventh as well only to be met with a raise by ElkY which Troy called. He was shown bad news however as ElkY had {3-Spades}{4-Clubs}{5-Spades} for a straight and the pot.

A little while after, the following hand occurred which grew ElkY’s stack even more.

Grospellier: {X-}{X-} / {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} / {X-}
Landfish: {X-}{X-} / {4-Spades}{A-Spades}{4-Clubs}{6-Hearts} / {X-}

ElkY completed again and Steve Landfish called. Alexander Kostritsyn came in with a raise which both other players called. On fourth, ElkY paired up and bet, Landfish called but Kostritsyn folded. ElkY bet the rest of the way with Landfish calling until seventh where he finally folded. ElkY was up to 900,000 after the hands.

Chad Brown Eliminated in 6th Place ($57,917)

Chad Brown
Chad Brown

Somedays, it's just not meant to be. After losing those two big pots, Chad Brown was short stacked and put his final few chips in with exactly the same hand that Maxwell Troy called him with.

Troy: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} / {4-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} / {2-Diamonds}
Brown: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} / {4-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{A-Hearts} / {6-}

Brown had the lead up on sixth street but Troy managed to pair his deuce on seventh to make two pair, Brown bricked and was knocked out in 6th place as a result, nearly $58,000 richer.

ElkY Doubles Through Brown

Brown: {A-Clubs}{3-Spades} / {A-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts} / {2-Diamonds}
Grospellier: {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} / {4-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{K-Clubs} / {5-Diamonds}

Chad Brown had completed and Bertrand Grospellier made it two bets before Brown upped it to three bets. ElkY called and then called another bet on fourth before raising on fifth street. Brown called and then call ElkY's last 35,000 all in on sixth. Both showed two pair, aces up for Brown against the Frenchman's kings up plus a flush draw. ElkY drew first and made his flush but Brown could only pull a deuce to make three pair which wasn't enough.
