Preflop betting had built a sizable pot already when the flop came and Rich Belsky bet 13,000 from middle position. Stephen Devlin then raised all in for about 40,000 total from the button, sending Belsky into the tank for three minutes. Finally Belsky let it go.
"Got away with one there, huh?" asked Belsky. Devlin looked up and smiled, but offered no hard information regarding the question. He's up to 68,000, while Belsky has 45,000.
The TV cameras appeared as if by magic even before Robert Williamson III got involved in the hand.
There was a raise from the cutoff and a call from the small blind, all of which was captured on camera before Williamson reraised another 5,000 from the big blind. Both players folded.
"Nicely done, number one," said the gent in the cutoff.
"The sick part is..." started Wiliamson, but no one ever found out what the sick part was as he suddenly became very absorbed in stacking chips, and trailed off.
Catching the action on a board of with around 35,000 chips in the middle, Phil Ivey called the 15,000-chip bet of his opponent before the fell on the river.
The action checked to Ivey who moved 45,000 into the middle as the media suddenly swarmed the table in anticipation of big Ivey pot.
His opponent went into the tank and eventually folded face up. Ivey didn't show. He just raked in even more chips to get himself up to 168,000.
Peter Eastgate is getting shortish now, he raised preflop from the cutoff and made a continuation bet on a flop before checking behind on the turn and folding to a 3,000 bet on the river.
Amnon Filippi raised to 1,775, next to act raised to 4,300 before a player in late position made it 13,500 to go. The table quickly folded back to Filippi who gave a wry smirk and quickly folded.
The action was then raised to 29,000 before the late position player moved all in for an additional 50,000. Incredibly the first player folded face up and his opponent flashed .
A great fold, but Filippi was ecstatic as he claimed to have folded pocket queens and it only cost 1,775 in chips!
Chris Klodnicki was down to his final 5,000 after an opponent caught a flush on the river. A few hands later, Klodnicki was eliminated from the tournament.
