Lieu Chopped On River

Donkey or Darling?
Donkey or Darling?
In a battle of the blinds Liz Lieu found herself all in for her last 27,000 against the big blind.

Lieu: {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}

The flop fell down {Q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{10-Spades} to keep Lieu behind, but with outs to a straight, and when the turn dropped the {K-Hearts} Lieu soared into the lead.

However the river would fall the {J-Spades} to see both players chop the pot, and a comment of, "you f**king donkey" directed straight at Lieu.

Danny Alaei's Failed Bluff Attempt

From Under the gun Danny Alaei raised to 1,700 and the button three bet to 5,000. Alaei smooth called.

The board came {Q-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {8-Spades} with both players checking until the river, when Alaei decided to bet out 5,400. The button made the call.

Alaei: {K-Spades} {10-Spades}
Button: {A-Clubs} {K-Hearts}

The button takes it down after calling with ace-high and Alaei slips to 27,000.

Devlin Won't Divulge

Preflop betting had built a sizable pot already when the flop came {8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} and Rich Belsky bet 13,000 from middle position. Stephen Devlin then raised all in for about 40,000 total from the button, sending Belsky into the tank for three minutes. Finally Belsky let it go.

"Got away with one there, huh?" asked Belsky. Devlin looked up and smiled, but offered no hard information regarding the question. He's up to 68,000, while Belsky has 45,000.

What Is the Sick Part?

The world will never know
The world will never know
The TV cameras appeared as if by magic even before Robert Williamson III got involved in the hand.

There was a raise from the cutoff and a call from the small blind, all of which was captured on camera before Williamson reraised another 5,000 from the big blind. Both players folded.

"Nicely done, number one," said the gent in the cutoff.

"The sick part is..." started Wiliamson, but no one ever found out what the sick part was as he suddenly became very absorbed in stacking chips, and trailed off.

Ivey Forces Fold From Set

Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey
Catching the action on a board of {4-Hearts}{J-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs} with around 35,000 chips in the middle, Phil Ivey called the 15,000-chip bet of his opponent before the {8-Spades} fell on the river.

The action checked to Ivey who moved 45,000 into the middle as the media suddenly swarmed the table in anticipation of big Ivey pot.

His opponent went into the tank and eventually folded {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} face up. Ivey didn't show. He just raked in even more chips to get himself up to 168,000.

Nam Le Takes One Down

Nam Le
Nam Le
Three players saw a flop of {9-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {2-Hearts} . Nam Le checked from the small blind, a player in middle position checked, and a player in late position bet 4,000.

Nam Le check raised to 9,000 and the player in middle position got out of the way. His remaining opponent made the call.

The turn brought the {4-Spades} and Nam fired out 11,000. His opponent folded quickly and Le took down the pot. He now has about 70,000.

Champ on the Slide

Peter Eastgate is getting shortish now, he raised preflop from the cutoff and made a continuation bet on a {A-Spades} {A-Diamonds} {5-Spades} flop before checking behind on the {2-Clubs} turn and folding to a 3,000 bet on the {8-Spades} river.

He's got just 21,000 remaining.

Filippi Loses Minimum with QQ vs KK vs AA

Amnon Filippi raised to 1,775, next to act raised to 4,300 before a player in late position made it 13,500 to go. The table quickly folded back to Filippi who gave a wry smirk and quickly folded.

The action was then raised to 29,000 before the late position player moved all in for an additional 50,000. Incredibly the first player folded {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades} face up and his opponent flashed {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}.

A great fold, but Filippi was ecstatic as he claimed to have folded pocket queens and it only cost 1,775 in chips!
