It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Madsen World

Jeff Madsen
Jeff Madsen
On a flop of {6-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, Jeff Madsen led out and his opponent raised behind him. Madsen called. The turn then brought the {3-Diamonds}. Madsen shoved all in and was called.

Madsen turned over {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, but his opponent had {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} -- a nice turn card for him. He'd made threes full of sixes.

"Wow, I had you on the flop," said Madsen.

There was one more change of fortune to come, though, in the form of the {6-Clubs} on the river. Madsen had stolen the hand back with a better boat.

The table strangely did not react at the wild river card, instead sitting in a kind of stunned silence. Finally, one player said "That's the grossest hand I've ever seen."

"Poker's easy," cracked Madsen as he scooped the chips. Madsen now has 44,000.

Andre Kaplar Lays Down on River

On a flop of {A-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}, Team PokerNews player Andre Kaplar raises to 6,000 and a player in middle position calls. A late-position player goes all in for 3,800 short, creating a side pot situation.

The turn is {K-Diamonds} and Izzokaplar checks on the side. The middle-position player bets 10,000 and Izzokaplar calls.

The river is {3-Clubs} and Kaplar checks. The MP goes all in for 16,500 and Kaplar thinks for awhile and folds.

The MP shows {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and takes it all, busting the LP player. Kaplar said after the hand that he had {A-?}{K-?}. He's down to 24,900, and loses more chips shortly after to settle at 16,100.

Karas Accumulating

Archie Karas up to 33,000
Archie Karas up to 33,000
On a flop of {8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts} a player in middle position led out for 1,250 before Archie "The Greek" Karas raised it up to 4,500 from the cutoff. The big blind stepped aside and the middle position player went into the tank.

He eventually laid it down and Karas takes down another pot to move to 33,000 chips.

Anthony Lellouche Eliminated

Lellouche Out
Lellouche Out
On a flop of {2-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {8-Diamonds}, Anthony Lellouche moved all in and received a call. Lellouche held {Q-Hearts} {10-Hearts} for a gutshot straight draw and backdoor flush draw. His opponent held {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} for a flush draw and ace high.

The turn of the {3-Diamonds} fill out Lellouche's opponent's flush. This left Lellouche drawing dead. The river fell a harmless {3-Hearts}, and Lellouche is out the door.

Nenad Medic
The cutoff limped, the small blind limped, Nenad Medic raised to 900 from the big blind, and both players called. The flop was {Q-Spades} {8-Spades} {6-Spades}. The small blind checked, Medic bet 1,700, the cutoff called and the small blind called. The turn was the {4-Spades}. Roothlus Not Toothless

Fabrizio Arrigo raised to 1,000 from the cutoff, and Adam "Roothlus" Levy called from the big blind.

The flop came {6-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. Levy checked, Arrigo bet 800, and Levy called. Both checked the {4-Clubs} on the turn. The river brought the {7-Clubs}. Both checked again.

Arrigo showed {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for jacks, but Levy tabled {A-Spades}{10-Hearts} for aces and took a small one. Arrigo currently has 26,500, while Levy has 21,000.

Pack a Jack

J. C. Tran
J. C. Tran
J.C. Tran has failed to make it much further than the dinner break. Very short-stacked, he pushed his last 3,175 into the middle with {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades}. Ed Brogdon woke up with {J-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} and called him.

The board ran {K-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {7-Hearts}. No help for Tran and the feared player is another casualty amongst the masses here on Day 1c.
