Clark Rockets To Double Up

Gary Clark has just doubled up, after pushing his last chips in on a board of {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. Raj Vohra made the call, but cringed when Clark flipped over {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} for the lead against Vohra's {Q-Clubs}{K-Hearts}.

The {K-Clubs} fell on the river, but Clark's aces and deuces were good against Vohra's kings and queens.

Clark is now up to 35,000, with Vohra falling to 36,000.

New Room, But Same Guy on My Left

About 18 of the tables that had been going over in the Brasilia room prior to the dinner break have now been relocated back to the Amazon room.

After some preflop action at one of those tables, an early-position player checked a flop of {K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, prompting Andrew "Good2cu" Robl to fire out a bet of 2,050. His opponent thought for a while, then decided it was not so good to see him and let it go.

Robl is up to 31,500.

Post-Dinner Coma

One important trait that a poker player must possess is stamina, as poker tournaments, especially this one, come with long hours of continual concentration. At this point of the day, a lot of players fall into what is known as a post-dinner coma. Sometimes it is brought on by eating too much food at dinner, sometimes by not eating enough. The post-dinner coma affects not only focus and concentration, but also mood. It will be interesting to see how this affects players this evening.

Gunnshot Wound

Stuart Gunn and his opponent on the button both checked a {J-Spades} {8-Clubs} {6-Clubs} flop. When the turn came the {J-Diamonds} Gunn led out for 6,000 and the button called. The river was the {10-Clubs} and both players checked.

The button showed {Q-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} and Gunn mucked. He's down to 38,000.

David Singer Up to 97,000

On a flop of {9-Spades} {2-Hearts} {2-Clubs} the small blind checked, David Singer made a half-pot bet of 5,000 and the small blind called. The turn was the {10-Diamonds}. The small blind bet 10,000 and Singer called. The river was the {7-Diamonds} and both players checked.

The small blind showed {5-Clubs} {5-Spades} but Singer had the winner with {Q-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} and raked in a pot worth 40,000. He's now up to 97,000 and among the chip leaders.

Sour Caroline

Spiked Kings Never Seemed So Bad
Spiked Kings Never Seemed So Bad
Caroline Cooper raises preflop to 1,200 under the gun and gets one caller from middle position. The flop is {8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Spades} and Caroline bets 5,500. The opponent shoves all in for 5,900 total and Caroline obviously calls. She has {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} to her opponent's {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}. The turn and river are {K-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Caroline falls to 6,000 in a heartbreaker.
