Hover Starts Level Four Strong

Thomas Hover has been quiet, but begins level four by winning his first pot.

A middle position player limps and Hover raises to 800. The small blind and middle position player call. The flop comes {5-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and both players check to Hover. Hover fires a bet of 1,600 and that is enough to get both players to fold.

Hover is now up to 6,100.

Edler Takes a Hit

Edler Observes a Flop
Edler Observes a Flop
Full Tilt Pro Bill Edler limped into the pot from under the gun and the action folded around to an unknown player in middle position who kicked it up to 1,200. Action then folded back around to Edler who doubled his opponent's raise, making it a total of 2,400 to go. His opponent opted to call and saw a flop of {9-Clubs}{10-Spades}{4-Hearts}.

Post-flop, Edler continued his aggression, firing a continuation bet of 3,200; his opponent called.

The turn brought the {2-Hearts} and 'The Stunning One' fired again, this time tossing 5,125 worth of chips across the betting line; he was called once more.

The last card off the deck was the {3-Diamonds} prompting both players to put on the brakes. At the showdown, Edler tabled a pocket pair of fives which played second fiddle to his opponent's pair of nines (A-9) and he was forced to surrender the hand.

Edler dropped to 14,000 in chips after the hand, though he's still above average heading into the break.

Jeff Tims Going Strong

Jeff Tims
Jeff Tims
Jeff Tims from Houston, Texas is building a solid chip stack. On this particular hand, Tims raises from under the gun to 600 and is called by Rick Drury, a middle position player, and the big blind.

The big blind, Tims, and Drury check on a board of {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and the middle position player bets 2,500. The big blind folds and action is now back on Tims. Tims raises to 6,500 and Drury folds. The middle position player immediately goes all in and is called by Tims.

Tims shows {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} and is behind the other player's {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}. The dealer turns the {K-Hearts} and Tims claps his fists together as he takes the lead.

The river brings the {4-Diamonds} and Tims has eliminated the other player. Tims is now sitting at around 21,000 chips.

Tims made a nice splash earlier at this Harrah's circuit when he took down event #12, a $500 No Limit Hold'em tournament for over $58,000.

Andrade Picks the Wrong Time to Make a Move

We arrived on the turn to see Gabriel Andrade and an unknown player involved in a big hand. On a flop of {7-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}, the two players had built a pot of 7,500. The turn fell the {A-Spades}. Seat one bet 4,500 and Andrade went into the tank. He asked, "Will you show if I fold?" The player responded "I'll show if you call." After a minute more Gabriel flipped over and said "Should I call with this hand?" He showed the {2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. Seat one said, "You picked the wrong time to try to make a move," as he showed the {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}
