Arieh Back to Even

An early position player limps in and Josh Arieh limps behind. The player in the cutoff raises to 1,000 and action folds back around to the first limper, who calls the raise. Arieh moves all in for 4,000 and the original preflop raiser moves his stack all in as well, for 14,000. The early position player folds.

Arieh shows {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs} and is up against the {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}.

The flop comes {10-Spades}{K-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and Arieh maintains his lead in the hand. The turn brings the {J-Spades} and now Arieh is behind his opponent's broadway straight.

Arieh needs the board to pair and gets it when the dealer slaps down the {J-Diamonds} on the river.

Arieh more than doubles up and increases his stack back to 10,000.

Much Ado About Nothing

Two players were involved in a sizable pot at Table 11. On a board showing {7-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}, Walter Chambers check-called a 600-chip bet from an unknown player in Seat 4.

The turn brought the {Q-Hearts} and both players checked.

On the river, the {J-Spades} brought a bet of 1,200 from Chambers.

At this point, the unknown player in seat 4 muttered, "If I call... (inaudible)." Upon hearing this, Chambers exposed one of his hole cards, the {A-Spades}, as the unknown player simultaneously tossed in five orange chips, worth a total of 5,000. The floor was called over to make a ruling on the hand, and it was determined that Chambers would have the option of folding, calling, or raising.

Chambers announced, "All in," and his opponent quickly called. The players tabled {A-Spades}{7-Spades} and {A-Clubs}{4-Hearts} to chop the pot with a Broadway straight.

Vanderford Takes a Nice Pot

We arrived on the river for a hand between Floyd Vanderford and an unknown player. On a board of {J-Spades}{5-Spades}{7-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}, an unknown player bet 2,700 into a pot of 5,000. Vanderford immediately made the call with {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for two pair. His opponent mucked and Vanderford moved up to approximately 30,000 in chips.

Nick Ceci Knocks Out Another

On a flop of {4-Spades}{7-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, an unknown player pushed all in for 6,300 against Nick Ceci. After tanking a couple of minutes, Ceci made the call.

Ceci: {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Unknown Player: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

Turn: {6-Clubs}
River: {5-Clubs}

After this hand, Ceci is sitting on approximately 30,000 in chips.

"Thank you, dealer!"

David Dao
David Dao
David Dao just caught a major break in a hand that saw quad kings decorate the board. Unfortunately we missed the betting action, but managed to catch the showdown: The board read K-K-A-K-K and Dao had tabled an inconsequential pocket pair of eights, hence he played the board. His opponent had produced A-10 and he too played the board, creating a chopped-pot situation.

"Thank you, dealer!" said Dao, as he got up out of his seat and gave the dealer a hug.

Tran Takes a Big Hit

Jimmy Tran calls a turn bet of 1,500 out of position against the player in the cutoff, as the board reads {2-Clubs}{J-Spades}{10-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}. The dealer puts out the {5-Hearts} for the river and Tran checks. The player in the cutoff bets out 3,500 and Tran deliberates before calling.

Tran looks unhappy when the player turns over the {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts} for a queen-high straight and the winning hand.

Tran has dropped down to 7,000.

Lee Wilson Takes a Big Hit

Lee Wilson has been moved to table 20, and shortly afterward was involved in a four-way hand. On a flop of {6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, an unknown player bet 2,600 which was called by Wilson and the other two players. The turn was the {8-Spades} and the player in the six seat bet 2,500. Wilson was the only caller. The river card was a {J-Hearts} and seat six went all in for 4,000 more. Wilson immediately called, showing {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for the nut flush. The player in the six seat proceeded to show {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for eights full. After the hand Wilson is now down to 18,000 in chips.

Dannenmann Hovering Around Even

Steve Dannenmann raises in early position, making it 625 to go. A player in Seat 7 re-raises to 1575, and Dannenmann is the only caller.

The flop comes {6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}, and Dannenmann passes to the raiser, who puts in 1800 more chips. Dannenmann folds, and as he re-counts his chips, he sees he has just about his starting stack of 10,000 left.

Hover Takes a Big Hit

Thomas Hover raises it up to 675. The player two seats to his left re-raises to 2300 and Hover calls.

The flop comes {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}. Hover immediately moves all in and is quickly called by the other player. Hover shows {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and his opponent shows the {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}. The turn brings the {10-Clubs} and the river the {8-Hearts} and Hover cannot improve to win the hand.

Hover, the seventh place finisher from Caesar's Las Vegas, is down to 1,075 chips.
