Visser Doubles With Kings

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Ruben Visser
Ruben Visser

Bartolomeo-Fulvio Tato opened for 4,400 from middle position. Right next to him was EPT London champ Ruben Visser and he made it 10,200 to go. Action folded back to Tato who added the 5,800 to make the call.

The flop came {Q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and the Italian checked to Visser. Visser bet out 12,300 and Tato made a min raise to 24,600. Visser shoved for 51,900 and Tato made the call after some tanking.

Visser showed {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds} giving Tato the news he had some catching up to do with his {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}. Help wouldn't come as the {7-Hearts} on the turn and {5-Diamonds} on the river were proper blanks.

Jake Cody Eliminated at the Feature Table

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Jake Cody
Jake Cody

If you're watching the live stream you already know for quite some time, but we just found out recently. While we're at the tournament floor right here in Deauville, digital railbirds like you knew before we did, how cool is that?

It turns out Jake Cody is out after clashing in a huge pot with French player Clement Genon-Catalot.

The stream cut back to the feature table when the two were already looking at a flop of {4-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Spades}. Genon-Catalot in the small blind had 8,500 in front of him and Cody in early position was calling.

The {8-Spades} hit the turn and Genon-Catalot looked up a bit before checking. Cody cut out 16,200 and slid the chips forward. Genon-Catalot didn't waste much time before calling.

The turn had brought a third flush card and made for a four way straight on the board. The {8-Hearts} on the river made the board even more interesting pairing it and making full houses possible all of the sudden.

Genon-Catalot again checked. Cody thought for just a bit before announcing all in. for 58,800 The dealer repeated Cody's words but even before she was done doing so, Genon-Catalot had already called.

Cody tabled {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} for a complete bluff, Genon-Catalot had the goods holding {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}. Jake Cody won't be a two-time EPT (Deauville) champion this time, we'll see him in Malta next month most likely.

Darcourt Fires it Up

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Guillaume Darcourt continues to put his table mates under pressure and latest victim of the aggressiveness was Jin Haijing, who faced a bet of 25,500 on the river of a {J-Spades} {6-Hearts} {K-Clubs} {8-Spades} {3-Clubs}. Darcourt put his hoodie closer to the face, hiding half of it and stared towards the board. No reaction at all could be seen and that eventually did the trick, as Haijing mucked his cards.

ElkY Grabs Big Pot

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier

Nathan Gozlan was under the gun and opened for 4,800. Rasmus Vogt made the call and did Bertrand Grospellier and the player in the big blind.

The flop was {7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and when it got checked around to Grospellier he bet 9,000. Vogt was the sole caller and the {k-Clubs} hit the turn. That didn’t prompt any further action so they saw a free card, the {7-Clubs} the completing the board.

Vogt now took the initiative and threw out a bet of 18,400. Grospellier assembled chips of various denominations and placed out a raise. Once the dealer had broken it down it was 48,400 and Vogt was in the tank.

A few minutes ticked by before Vogt said, “Alright.” He folded and a brief conversation ensued along the lines of Vogt saying he had no idea what Grospellier could have and the Team PokerStrs Pro offering the opinion that there was too many chips in that pot.

Tato not Tamed

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

After a raise to 4,500, Owain Carey called and Bartolomeo-Fulvio Tato moved all in for 36,300 out of the button seat. The initial raiser eventually called and flipped over the {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades}, Carey had quickly mucked. Tato was behind with {A-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} but found a quite pleasant flop of {8-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {J-Clubs}. The hand was locked up for the Italian with the {9-Clubs} turn and the meaningless {5-Hearts} river completed the board.

Mike Hill
Mike Hill

Mike 'Da Bookie' Hill has lost the last of his chips shoving {a-}{9-} from late position but running into {A-}{q-}.

The flop of {6-}{7-}{8-} gave him a few more outs but nothing appeared on the turn and a {q-} river finished him off.

He confirmed on social media that he was, “Jacked off going for a beer.” The chips went to Benjamin Pollak, who is up to almost 300k now.

Carey Takes Care of Tato

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Only minutes after his double up, Bartolomeo-Fulvio Tato five-bet shoved for 85,000 into Owain Carey's four-bet and got snap-called by pocket aces. Tato had pocket jacks and was drawing dead on the turn, though the river was rubbing it in with a jack as well on {6-} {10-} {A-} {6-} {J-}.
