Dead Even in Chips

Level 35 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

Manig Loeser min-raised to 800,000 and Wei Huang called. On the {q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop, Huang led for 600,000 with {q-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for top pair and Loeser called with {k-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for second pair. The {9-Spades} turn was checked by Huang and Loeser checked back to see the {q-Diamonds} on the river.

Huang made it 2,200,000 and Loeser immediately sighed, and ended up calling.

Loeser Wins Three in a Row

Level 35 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

Manig Loeser limped in with the {a-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and Wei Huang called with the {j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. On the {6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop, Loeser bet for 400,000 with his pair and Huang called with up and down the straight draw. The {a-Spades} followed on the turn and Loeser bet 1,100,000, which Huang wanted to call but ended up folding.

Loeser flopped another big draw with his {a-Spades}{6-Spades} in a limped pot when the {10-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop provided a gutshot and nut flush draw. Loeser bet 400,000 and Huang folded a five-high.

Soon after they saw a {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop and Loeser check-raised from 400,000 to 1,250,000 with the {j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. Huang had min-bet with {q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and got out of the way.

Viktor Katzenberger
Viktor Katzenberger

The hand after losing the big flip against Manig Loeser, Viktor Katzenberger was in the small blind with three big blinds. Wei Huang limped on the button, Katzenberger shoved 1,175,000, Manig Loeser folded, and Huang called.

Viktor Katzenberger: {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
Wei Huang: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

The flop was {6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades} to add the sevens to the eights as outs. Neither the {q-Hearts} turn nor {j-Clubs} river was one of them and the Hungarian said his goodbyes in third place. With the deal, Katzenberger will walk away with €529,707.

Loeser improved to two pair on the {10-Diamonds} turn but checked, Huang checked back. Loeser bet the {4-Spades} river for 450,000 and Huang called to get shown the bad news.

"You had an eight?" Loeser immediately asked and Huang smiled back.

In the next hand, Loeser raised the button to 600,000 and Viktor Katzenberger in the big blind three-bet to 1,900,000. Loeser moved all in and Katzenberger called in a heartbeat.
