Khangah's Kicker Prevails

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

On the {10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop, Manuchehr Khangah checked the small blind and Francisco Benitez bet 36,000. Khangah check-raised all in for exactly 200,000 and Benitez eventually called.

Khangah: {10-Spades}{8-Spades}
Benitez: {10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

The {K-Diamonds} turn and {Q-Clubs} river were both blanks and Khangah doubled to leave Benitez short.

Big Double for Greenwood

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

After winning a lot of chips recently, Claas Segebrecht has just taken a bigger hit to his stack and dropped back below one million while Sam Greenwood reached his peak for the day so far.

Nick Petrangelo raised to 30,000 from under the gun and Greenwood three-bet to 85,000 from the button. Segebrecht four-bet all in from the big blind and Petrangelo folded, Greenwood called.

Greenwood: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Segebrecht: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}

The {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop didn't change anything, as Greenwood's queens with the higher flushdraw stayed ahead. Neither the {2-Diamonds} turn nor the {5-Clubs} river improved Segebrecht and Greenwood doubled through him for 482,000.

Claas Segebrecht Charging Up the Chip Counts

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Claas Segebrecht
Claas Segebrecht

Claas Segebrecht has been putting in an effort to move up the leaderboards in the last few hands. With the board reading {8-Hearts}{3-Spades}{5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} Segebrecht bet 134,000 against Vladimir Troyanovskiy. After some considerable thought, Troyanovskiy called but mucked when his opponent showed {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.

In the very next hand, both Segebrecht and Petrangelo checked on the turn with the board reading {q-Clubs}{k-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and the {7-Hearts} was dealt on the river. Segebrecht bet out, again for 134,000 and Petrangelo went into the tank. Eventually he called but repeated the actions of Troyanovskiy in the previous hand, as he mucked when Segebrecht showed {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}.

Segebrecht is now up over 1,000,000 in chips, with both Troyanovskiy and Petrangelo falling back.

McDonald Doubles Through Mateos

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

About 150,000 chips are in the middle with the flop of {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and Adrian Mateos checked in the big blind. Mike McDonald bet 75,000 from the button and Mateos called. On the {2-Diamonds} turn, both players checked.

Mateos then shoved the {4-Spades} river and McDonald called and showed {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for a straight draw that got there. Mateos mucked and briefly exposed {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}, then paid off the 284,000 all in of McDonald to almost even out the stacks of the two.

Chouity Pays off Kurganov

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Igor Kurganov raised to 30,000 from the cutoff and Nicolas Chouity three-bet to 71,000 from two seats over in the small blind, Kurganov called. On the {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop, both players checked. Chouity then bet the {7-Hearts} turn for 42,000 and Kurganov raised to 116,000, Chouity called.

After the {4-Hearts} river, Chouity checked and Kurganov bet 138,000 for most of his remaining stack. Chouity was stuck in the think tank and eventually asked "you never bluff?" After some further consideration, he called and then mucked when Kurganov showed him the {A-Clubs}{9-Hearts}.

One hand later, Kurganov raised to 26,000 and then folded to the shove of Chouity.

Jack Salter Eliminated

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Jack Salter
Jack Salter

Jack Salter open-shoved 170,000 from early position. Action folded around to Dario Sammartino in the small blind, who reshoved all in to put Salter at risk.

Jack Salter: {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}
Dario Sammartino: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

Sammartino took a commanding lead after the {9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop. The {3-Diamonds} on the turn sealed Salter's fate, leaving the {10-Diamonds} river meaningless.

Gruissem Doubles, Auyezkanov Short

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Philipp Gruissem
Philipp Gruissem

Aidyn Auyezkanov raised to 25,000 from middle position. Philipp Gruissem three-bet to 75,000 from the small blind, and Auyezkanov called to see a flop. The flop was {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, and Gruissem continued his preflop aggression with a bet of 55,000. Auyezkanov came along with the call.

The turn was the {6-Clubs}. This time, Gruissem bet 105,000, leaving himself with just 71,000 behind. Auyezkanov moved all in and Gruissem called the remainder of his stack off.

Philipp Gruissem: {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Aidyn Auyezkanov: {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Gruissem's nine-eight off flopped a monster, but the German still needed to dodge a king or club to secure the double up. The river {10-Hearts} wasn't one of those outs, leaving the Kazakhstani dangerously short.

Drinan Back in Business

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Nicolas Chouity raised to 27,000 from early position and Fedor Holz called in the cutoff, as did Diego Ventura on the button. In the small blind, Connor Drinan moved all in for 280,000 and Chouity folded. Holz elected to call, while Ventura folded.

Drinan: {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}
Holz: {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}

The {9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop gave Drinan the flush draw on top, taking away some outs from Holz, and the {7-Spades} turn and {4-Diamonds} river were both blanks to let Drinan double up.

Christoph Vogelsang Eliminated by Aidyn Auyezkanov

Christoph Vogelsang
Christoph Vogelsang

Aidyn Auyezkanov raised to 30,000 from the hijack and Christoph Vogelsang thought long and hard about his decision before moving all in from the button. The players in the blinds folded and action was back on Auyezkanov.

They had fairly similar stack sizes, with Auyezkanov just covering his German opponent, but eventually Auyezkanov called and showed {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} and was ahead of Vogelsang's {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}.

The flop came {7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{8-Spades}{j-Hearts} and Auyezkanov won the pot with a set, eliminating Vogelsang.

Lebedev Busts to Ventura

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Sergey Lebedev
Sergey Lebedev

Short stack Sergey Lebedev open-shoved from the button for around 180,000 and Diego Ventura looked him up out of the big blind.

Lebedev: {10-Spades}{9-Spades}
Ventura: {A-Spades}{10-Clubs}

Lebedev needed to pair his nine or hope for spades and some straight outs, but instead the board ran out {8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and that sent the Russian to the rail.
