Must Be Nuis

Jean Francois Talbot raised under the gun and Lex Veldhuis to his immediate left reraised to 35,500. It then folded around to Daniel Groth in the big blind, who pushed all in for 109,500. Talbot quickly got out of the way, but after a few moments' thought, Veldhuis called.

Veldhuis: {J-Clubs} {K-Clubs}
Groth: {A-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}

Board: {3-Hearts} {J-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {4-Spades} {4-Clubs}

Ouch. With that, Groth hit the rail and Veldhuis moved on up to 290,000.

Marzocchi Falls Next

Nicolas Chouity just busted Stefano Marzocchi (the exits are thick and fast this afternoon!) yet another flip...

Chouity: {4-Hearts} {4-Diamonds}
Marzocchi: {A-Clubs} {9-Clubs}

A decisive board of {K-Spades} {4-Spades} {2-Hearts} {A-Hearts} {7-Spades} drops another player

Weisner Acquires Wisdom, Loses Chips

Melanie Weisner opened for 13,000 in early position only for Matt Perrins in the big blind to ominously ask her how much she was playing but then just flat-call.

Both players checked the {7-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {9-Spades} flop and Perrins bet out 17,500 on the {2-Spades} turn, which Weisner called. Perrins bet out another 28,500 on the {6-Diamonds} river and Weisner confidently announced call, but then mucked when Perrins turned over {J-Clubs} {J-Diamonds}. Weisner dropped to 270,000.

Guetting Paid

Teddy Sheringham open-shoved and Anthony Guetti called all in with an even shorter stack. Everyone else folded, and they were on their backs.

Sheringham: {9-Clubs} {9-Hearts}
Guetti: {J-?} {J-?}

Board: {7-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {6-Diamonds}

Guetti doubled to 125,000, while Sheringham found himself even shorter on just 80,000.

Dervaux Gets Kay-O'ed

Nicolas Dervaux pushed all-in for 54,500 preflop and Matthew Kay tanked behind him before also moving all-in.

Dervaux: {3-Spades} {3-Hearts}
Kay: {7-Spades} {7-Hearts}

The {A-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} {6-Spades} flop looked to have saved the Frenchman but after a {9-Spades} turn, the ugly (for Dervaux at least) {7-Diamonds} came on the river to eliminate him.

Stefano Di Gennaro, RIP

A rather sombre start to the day, as TD Thomas Kremser called for a minute's silence in remembrance of Stefano di Gennaro, an Italian player who played in San Remo last week and sadly died yesterday in a motorbike accident. Condolences to his family.
