Sagias Doubles Twice

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Within two hands, Ilias Sagias went from short stack to above-average. First a small pot emerged to the flop {J-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Spades} and Jarryd Godena bet 12,000. Sagias shoved and was called.

Sagias: {A-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Spades}
Godena: {J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs}

The {K-Clubs} turn was a blank, but the {8-Spades} river gave Sagias the nut flush to double up.

Then, Sagias repotted preflop out of the small blind and Daniel Laidlaw called. Sagias shoved the {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop for 31,500 with a pot of 120,000 already in the middle. Laidlaw tank-called, knowing he was well behind.

Sagias: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}{J-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Laidlaw: {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts}

Both the {6-Hearts} turn and {7-Diamonds} river changed nothing whatsoever and Sagias doubled up for the second time.

Godena Busts Luo; Bubble Time

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

There are just 13 players remaining and 12 will be paid. Daniel Laidlaw had raised to 17,500 and Jiajun Luo called on the button, Jarryd Godena did so as well in the big blind. On the flop {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, Godena and Laidlaw checked. Luo bet the pot for 55,000 and Godena called, Laidlaw folded.

On the {K-Clubs} turn, Godena put his opponent all in the Luo called off:

Luo: {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}
Godena: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{J-Spades}{2-Diamonds}

The {4-Diamonds} river blanked and Luo hit the rail in 14th place. Both remaining tables are now playing hand for hand on the money bubble.

Campbell Lets Go

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

David Campbell has dropped to one of the shortest stacks in the room. After a heads-up pot of 36,000 to the {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} flop, Nikolaos Solomos bet the pot to put his opponent all in. Campbell glanced up from his mobile phone, then folded. "If you want to see, I show," Solomos offered after some other players had asked for it.

Campbell just shook his head and focused on the mobile phone again straight after.

Laidlaw Busts Lee; Takes Lead

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

The hot run of Daniel Laidlaw continues, as the Aussie just sent table neighbor Hun Wei Lee to the rail. The start of the day had both players far apart in the counts, but Laidlaw chipped up immensely with things escalating on the {A-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{J-Clubs} turn.

Lee: {J-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Laidlaw: {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}

Laidlaw had two pair and needed to dodge clubs in order to bust his opponent, which indeed happened as the {5-Hearts} river was a blank.

Solomos Doubles

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

On the heads-up flop of {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, Nikolaos Solomos was all in for his last 12,000 chips. The pot was almost three times of that and Billy Argyros, who had just won a pot without showdown by shoving and showing two pair, eventually called. "I wish you had more chips, so I don't have to call," Argyros said.

Solomos: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} for the nut straight
Argyros: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Spades} for a pair of kings

There was no runner runner miracle, the board completed with the {6-Clubs} turn and {A-Clubs} to let Solomos double up.

Solomos Getting Very Short

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

On the four-way turn {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, Sam Higgs bet 13,000 and table neighbor Nikolaos Solomos called, the other two players folded. The {4-Clubs} came on the river and Higgs now bet 20,000. Solomos had slightly more than that behind and eventually folded {4-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for a baby flush.

Laidlaw Doubles

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Ilias Sagias has been slipping further after just putting Daniel Laidlaw all in and at risk with a big double draw on the flop {Q-Hearts}{J-Spades}{8-Hearts},.

Laidlaw: {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Sagias: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

The {J-Clubs} on the turn gave Laidlaw quads and the now meaningless {9-Hearts} river completed a worthless flush for Sagias.
