World Poker Tour to Host First Ever $5 Million Freeroll During WPT World Championship
The World Poker Tour (WPT) is going to set another record this coming December with a freeroll tournament that will have thousands of poker players interested in making a trip to Las Vegas.
Wynn Las Vegas, during the WPT World Championship Festival, will play host to the first ever $5 million poker tournament freeroll Dec. 13-15. First place is guaranteed to make at least $1 million.
The historic freeroll comes just one year after the World Poker Tour hosted the record-setting $40 million guaranteed WPT World Championship, a $10,400 buy-in tournament that attracted 3,835 entrants. Dan Sepiol took it down for $5.3 million thanks to a dominant final table performance for the ages.

The ClubWPT Gold $5M Invitational Freeroll in Las Vegas takes place one day prior to the start of the third annual WPT World Championship. ClubWPT Gold and the World Poker Tour are working in conjunction with Wynn to host one of the most epic events in poker history.
“Our return to Wynn Las Vegas this December is equipped with another monumental investment into the development and growth of not only the WPT World Championship, but the poker industry as a whole,” said WPT CEO and President Adam Pliska. “In celebration of the launch of ClubWPT Gold, we’re aiming for another first for the poker world with the largest freeroll ever offered.”
ClubWPT Gold is an upcoming online poker product that uses a sweepstakes-based model, similar to the longstanding and popular ClubWPT platform. The new ClubWPT Gold is available in the United States and will allow American poker players to compete for prizes via Gold Coins (GC) that have no monetary value, and Sweeps Coins (SC), which can be obtained through various promotional methods, including a free mode of entry, and may be redeemed for cash and prizes.
To earn a seat into the record-breaking freeroll, players must obtain a "Golden Passport" on ClubWPT Gold. Doing so requires players to first join the site on ClubWPTGold.com. The new social poker platform will award 2,000 seats into the Invitational Freeroll between Sept. 24 and Dec. 13 through various promotions, contests, and giveaways to ClubWPT Gold members. Poker players can expect to start playing poker games on ClubWPT Gold in early 2025, but an exact date hasn't yet been set.
Jamie Kerstetter, a poker pro and WPT Global ambassador, announced a promotion on X for those interested in getting in on the freeroll. Kerstetter will be raffling off over $50,000 worth of tickets starting this week.
No purchase is necessary to play on ClubWPT Gold.
