Payam's Boat over Trips

Level 15 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Under the gun called a jam of 41,000 from Saleh Payam in middle position, with all the chips going in preflop.

Saleh Payam: 1010All in
Under the gun: KJ

The J107 flop brought under the gun top pair, but Payam hit a ten for trips.

The A turn didn't change anything for either player, but the J river continued to help Payam as under the guns trip jacks wasn't good enough against Payam's full house. Payam got to keep his two bounties and a sizeable stack to remain in the game.

Bardah Tanks on a Shove

Level 15 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Ronnie Bardah opened from middle position to 8,500 and it folded to Sarah Kilborn-Strand in the big blind, who went all in and quickly entered a meditative state, closing her eyes.

Bardah shuffled his two cards and spent just over two minutes mulling it over, asking the big blind if she like her hand. Her eyes remained closed and she offered no response. Eventually Bardah folded.

The Very Next Hand:

Bardah opened to 8,500 again but this time from early position. When it folded around he exclaimed, "Ah! You're supposed to go all in this time!" and he tabled the QQ telling Kilborn-Strand that he folded a big hand on the previous one.

Kilborn-Strand travelled all the way from Alaska to compete in the 2024 World Series of Poker and Bardah admitted it was one of the two states he hasn't had the chance to visit yet.

Level 15 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Chris Hunichen
Chris Hunichen

A player in middle position raised all in for their last 62,000, and Chris Hunichen made the call in the cutoff. After action folded around, the cards were on their backs.

Middle Position: A8 All in
Chris Hunichen: KQ

Hunichen was behind but the flop came out JK9 giving him the lead. However, the at-risk player was delighted to see the A on the turn to put him back in front. But unfortunately, that feeling was short lived as the Q completed the run out, to give Hunichen two pair with kings and queens, and secure his ninth bounty of the tournament.

Action was pre-flop with one player having shoved for 17,000. It folded to Jason Wheeler who re-raised all in for well over 100,000. The big blind agonized over his decision before folding.

Jason Wheeler: QJ

"Miles ahead!" said the big blind as the board Q8785 came, giving Wheeler top pair and sending his opponent to the rail.
