Monnette Puts in the Rare Double Check-Raise

Level 2
John Monnette
John Monnette

Omaha Hi-Lo

Action folded to Joao Vieira in middle position who opened to 6,000. Everyone folded except John Monnette who defended his big blind.

The 443 flop landed and Monnette started with a check. Vieira put out a bet and Monnette quickly check-raised to 12,000. Vieira made the call.

The 6 turn landed and Monnette slowed down and checked. Vieira pounced and put out a bet, only to fall right into the trap of Monnette who put in the rare double check-raise. Vieira wasn't finished with the hand yet and made the call.

The Q river hit the felt and the action went bet call.

"Ace-deuce-four" Said Monnette as he tabled his full hand A429.

Vieira rolled over A2K6 and would get quartered in a very interesting hand.

Yoon Rebuilds a Bit Through Glantz

Level 2

Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

It's been a slow start for recent five-time bracelet winner Brian Yoon, but he recently got a few chips from last year's Mystery Bounty millionaire, Matt Glantz.

Yoon raised in the hijack and got three-bet by Glantz in the cutoff. Action folded back to Yoon who called.

Each player drew two cards and then Yoon bet and got called by Glantz.

The players now drew one and again Yoon bet and got a call from Glantz.

Yoon now stood pat while Glantz still needed a card.

Yoon bet a final time, but after checking his new card, Glantz folded his hand to send the pot to Yoon.

Ivey Aggressive Early

Level 2
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

No-Limit Hold'em

Action folded to Talal Shakerchi in late position who opened to 4,000. Phil Ivey was next to act and three-bet to 14,000. Shakerchi opted to peel three and made the call.

The 6103 flop landed and action checked to Ivey. He didn't waste much time before putting out a continuation bet of 15,000.

Many have tried and failed at playing Ivey out of position in a three-bet pot and although he went into the tank for a moment, Shakerchi thought better of it and mucked his hand. Ivey wins a nice pot early with little resistance.
