Good Start for Schwartz

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

In a heads-up raised pot, the flop read {q-Spades}{j-Spades}{8-Spades}, the small blind check-called a bet worth 900 from Michael Schwartz. The same action happened on the {3-Clubs} turn, this time for 3,500.

The {a-Hearts} fell on the river and both players checked. The small blind showed {k-Spades}{q-Hearts} but Schwartz tabled {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for two pair and took down the pot.

Clock Called On Kuether

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante
Joe Kuether
Joe Kuether

There was heads-up action between David Craven from the cutoff and Joe Kuether from the big blind with a {4-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} board showing.

With roughly 8,000 already in the middle, Kuether led out for 6,000 and Craven called to see the {3-Diamonds} complete the board on the river.

Kuether led out once again, this time for 16,000 and Craven raised 41,000.

The raise sent Kuether deep into the tank, so much so that a clock was called on him and after the 30-second countdown, Kuether's hand was mucked as he never made a decision.

Set Over Set Boost for Kirton

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

Gregory Robbins raised to 600 and then called a three-bet to 2,000 by Eric Baldwin. The {q-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop was checked by Robbins and he then called a bet worth 1,600 by Baldwin. They checked the {5-Hearts} turn and {6-Spades} river as Robbins collected the pot with the {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}.

Selahaddin Bedir then raised to 500 and earned four callers. Steven Kirton in the big blind three-bet to 1,600, picking up four callers including Bedir and Robbins. Kirton then bet all the way for 3,000 on the {a-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop, 6,000 on the {2-Spades} turn and 9,000 on the {6-Diamonds} river. Only Robbins called and was shown the {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for a set of queens.

"My friend warned me about set over set," Robbins said as he exposed the {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades} for the inferior set.
