Radmir Sadirov Wins 2021 WSOP Online Event #18 $5,000 Short Deck Championship

After a short-lived final table of just over one and a half hours, the next gold bracelet winner has been crowned in the 2021 GGPoker WSOP Online Bracelet Events. Russia's Radmir "KOPOBA" Sadirov entered the seven-handed final table in Event #18: $5,000 Short Deck Championship with a commanding lead and closed it out after defeating Joao Vieira in heads-up play.

The tournament drew a total of 144 runners and the top 20 spots earned a portion of the $684,000 prize pool. For his efforts, Sadirov claimed the top prize of $169,111. Runner-up Vieira missed out on his second gold bracelet and settles for a consolation prize worth $122,270.

Prior to this event, the Portuguese poker pro had already cashed more than 50 times in WSOP-branded tournaments for more than $1.2 million and cemented his status as one of the best mixed game players in live and online poker.

Event #6: $200 FLIP & GO NO-Limit Hold'em runner-up Yen-Liang "yao_poker" Yao finished in third place this time while the one-time WSOP bracelet winners Daniel Dvoress and Sam Greenwood were also unable to double their tally. In between the two Canadian High Roller regulars, Dario Sammartino exited in fifth place, and Mukoro "AnonAnomaly" Gberevbie was the first final table casualty.

Sadirov Goes Wire-To-Wire for First Bracelet

Little is known about Sadirov, who had just over $200k in cashes on GGPoker according to the in-built heads-up display. His Cyrillic nickname translates to cow and he entered the final table as the runaway chip leader with nearly half of the chips in play. Vieira claimed the top spot off Sadirov on two occasions but eventually came up short of his second WSOP gold bracelet.

The final table commenced with three rapid-fire eliminations in the opening half an hour. Vieira kicked off the proceedings by winning a flip against Mukoro "AnonAnomaly" Gberevbie and Radmir "KOPOBA" Sadirov then scored his first knockout by sending Sam Greenwood to the rail. Dario Sammartino once more missed out on the maiden WSOP gold bracelet after Daniel Dvoress prevailed in a battle of short stacks.

Dvoress, who was among the winners in the inaugural 2020 WSOP Online Bracelet Events on GGPoker, then became the next casualty. Sadirov applied a lot of pressure throughout the entire final table by utilizing open-shoves with his massive lead and one of these moves earned the call from Dvoress. The Canadian was ahead with ace-queen versus king-ten but Sadirov spiked a king in the window.

The lead of Sadirov grew further when he knocked out Yen-Liang "yao_poker" Yao in third place with aces versus jack-ten suited in a preflop all-in contest. Heads-up was a topsy turvy affair as Vieira wasn't giving up easily. The Portuguese doubled into the lead by cracking aces and pulled further ahead by getting value from a flopped full house.

However, shortly after Sadirov spiked an ace on the river to reclaim the top spot in a classic flip and sealed the victory soon after.

That concludes the PokerNews updates for this event. The next gold bracelet is up for grabs on August 26 and 27 in Event #19: $840 6-Handed Bounty No-Limit Hold'em.

Joao Vieira limped in from the button and Radmir "KOPOBA" Sadirov raised it up to 240,000. Vieira moved all-in for just shy of 2.5 million and Sadirov called it off, once more utilizing the "one time" emoji.

Joao Vieira: {j-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Radmir "KOPOBA" Sadirov: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

The {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Spades} flop left Vieira with a gutshot and he had four outs at his disposal after the blank {a-Spades} turn. However, the {q-Diamonds} river only improved Sadirov to a full house and that ended Vieira's run in second place for $122,270.
