Berkey Five-Bet Shoves

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 120 ante
Matt Berkey
Matt Berkey

Jesse "MrJesseJames" Slyvia raised to 2,400 from early position. Matt "Berkey11_S4Y" Berkey three-bet to 6,240 from middle position. Brett "furofakind" Shaffer then four-bet to 15,800 from the button.

Slyvia quickly folded to make way for Berkey's five-bet all in shove for 110,097, which had Shaffer easily covered.

Shaffer thought for a while before folding and giving Berkey a preflop boost.

Will Allen "Chainsaw" Kessler Win His First Real WSOP Gold Bracelet?

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 120 ante
Allen Kessler
Allen Kessler

Allen "Chainsaw" Kessler is among the masses to take his shot at a gold bracelet today. Kessler, a three-time gold ring winner, has come close to winning bracelets in the past with four runner-up finishes in the past.

The first came when he finished second to Todd Brunson in the 2005 WSOP Event #21: $2,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better for $132,110, and then again at the 2011 WSOP he finished second to Frank Kassela in Event #15: $10,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship for $276,485.

The following year, Kessler fell to Brian Rast in heads-up play in the 2011 WSOP Event #15: $1,500 Pot-Limit Hold’em for $140,309. More recently, Kessler sought out a WSOP Europe bracelet but once again had to settle for second in the 2017 WSOPE Event #6: €2,200 Pot-Limit Omaha for €57,897.

All told, Kessler has 179 WSOP-related cashes totaling $1,983,863 dating back to 2001, but thus far a gold bracelet has escaped him for nearly two decades. That could call change in this tournament!

Tice's First WSOP Main Event Comes to an End

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Landon Tice after winning his MSPT title.
Landon Tice after winning his MSPT title.

Landon "ActionDealer" Tice, who last month won a MSPT title for $201K, moved all in for 14,655 from middle position and Kenneth "KBconcepts" Phillips called from the button. The blinds both folded and the hands were revealed.

Landon "ActionDealer" Tice: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Kenneth "KBconcepts" Phillips: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

Tice, who is just 21 years old and in the midst of a breakout year, was in need of some help, especially when the {7-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flop gave Phillips top set.

Tice could still win with a jack, but he failed to catch as the {4-Hearts} bricked the turn followed by the {7-Diamonds} on the river.

Chan's Shove Gets Through

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Daniel "StayActive" Chan raised to 2,200 from under the gun. He got calls from Chad "clayne" Layne on his immediate right, Jared "JebronLames1" Bleznick from the button and from Lauren "sycamore22" Roberts who defended her big blind.

The four players saw the {6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop. Action checked to Layne who bet 7,650, Bleznick raised to 15,300.

Chan then came over the top and moved all in for 43,485. Layne quickly folded but Bleznick had a long think about it before also pitching his cards away to give Chan the nice boost to his stack.

Sinishtaj Eliminated By Reilly

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Tony Sinishtaj
Tony Sinishtaj

"Spinehammer" limped from middle position only to have Tony "ToNiSiNz" Sinishtaj three-bet all in for 9,760 from the cutoff. Tim "uNORTH0doX" Reilly then shoved for 41,435 from the small blind and the limper got out of the way.

Tony "ToNiSiNz" Sinishtaj: {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Tim "uNORTH0doX" Reilly: {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

The {8-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} flop gave Sinishtaj a gutshot, but Reilly held two blockers. Neither the {2-Clubs} turn nor {3-Spades} river helped Sinishtaj and his 2020 WSOP Main Event came to an unceremonious end.

Lech Gets Lucky to Double Through Ferrera

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Michael Lech
Michael Lech

After the player on the button raised to 2,000, eight-time WSOP Circuit ring winner Michael "miguelfiesta" Lech three-bet jammed for 17,876 from the small blind. Keith "ThxSimGod" Ferrera then jammed for 28,599 from the big and the original raiser got out of the way.

Michael "miguelfiesta" Lech: {7-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Keith "ThxSimGod" Ferrera: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

Lech, who won a gold bracelet over the summer, was in trouble but not after the {5-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} flop paired his ace. Neither the {j-Hearts} turn nor {7-Spades} river changed a thing and Lech shipped the double.
