Romaine Fires River

Level 23 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Mark Scacewater raised to 90,000 preflop from early position and received a call from William Romaine who defended his big blind. The flop came {8-Spades}{9-Hearts}{a-Clubs} and Romaine check-called Scacewater's continuation-bet of 90,000.

Both players checked the turn {5-Diamonds} and the river came {7-Spades}. Romaine put 135,000 into the middle, causing Scacewater to let his hand go while Romaine collected the small pot.

Nawa Puts Petrushevskii to the Test

Level 23 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

On a completed scary looking board of {2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{10-Spades} Hiroki Nawa moved all in into a pot of about 850,000. Sergei Petrushevskii was facing a decision for his tournament life as he was covered by Nawa.

Petrushevskii thought about it long and hard and looked at Nawa who had nearly his entire face covered by his hoodie and sunglasses. Eventually another player at the table asked if he needed the clock called on him to help him expedite the decision. As soon as he was asked he folded his hand and Nawa uncoiled fromhis defensive position and pulled in the chips.

Dodge Four-Bet Bluffs Off Stack

Level 23 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Ryan Dodge had {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} in front of him but was left wanting on a board of {4-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs} against the {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} of Zackary Koerper. According to Greg Himmelbrand, action had gone: open from Dodge in the cutoff, three-bet from Koerper in the small blind, four-bet all in from Dodge. Stacks were counted down and Dodge was slightly covered with about 1.3 million against a little under 1.5 million, so he hit the rail.
