Dermer Wins Battle of the Eights

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

Jared Bleznick had won a pot against Jesse Hampton without showdown when the final table had just kicked off and lost almost all of those chips now again in three-way action against Kyle Miaso and Aron Dermer.

Bleznick raised the button and was called by Dermer and Miaso in the blinds. They all took two on the first draw and Dermer bet, Miaso and Bleznick called. On the second draw, Dermer now stood pat and his two opponents once again drew two. A quick bet of Dermer followed and Miaso sent his cards into the muck, while Bleznick called.

On the final draw, both stood pat and Dermer turned over his {8-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{2-} and Bleznick carefully checked the cards. "I have the worst eight," Dermer added and Bleznick studied his cards, shrugged and tabled {8-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{3-} for the worse eight.

Hope Williams Eliminated in 8th Place ($13,593)

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante
Hope Williams
Hope Williams

Robert Campbell raised from the button and Hope Williams put in a three-bet from the small blind. With action on David Bach in the big blind, he asked to see Williams' stack and announced four bets, putting in 80,000. Campbell quickly folded and Williams capped it with a fifth bet, leaving 6,000 behind. Bach called and the first draw went three and one. Williams put in her last 6,000 and Bach called and the next two draws both went one and pat.

Bach tabled {8-}{7-}{6-}{3-}{2-} and Williams exclaimed she was drawing dead, turning over {10-}{4-}{3-}{2-} and then flipping over the meaningless {9-} to complete her hand as she wished Bach a nice hand and was eliminated from the tournament.

With seven left, the remaining players are racking up their chips and moving to the second featured table as the unofficial final table is set to begin shortly.
