Hicks Find the Seven-Deuce Again

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Eric Hicks
Eric Hicks

Following a raise to 15,000, Eric Hicks called in the small blind, as did Mark Zullo in the big blind.

The flop landed {8-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and both Hicks and Zullo checked to the original raiser who bets 15,000. Hicks check-raised to 55,000, and the Zullo folded.

The turn and river of the {10-Spades} and {7-Hearts} were checked through, and Hicks revealed his {7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. His opponent showed his {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a busted flush draw, and Hicks captured another pot holding seven-deuce.

DiVella Forces a Quick Fold

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Uri Reichenstein opened to 13,000 from the cutoff and Nick DiVella defended his big blind. The flop came {10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {8-Hearts} on the turn.

DiVella led out for 15,000 and Reichenstein called to see the {9-Hearts} on the river. DiVella tossed in another bet of 15,000 but this time Reichenstein raised to 65,000. DiVella thought for over a minute and then announced all in for around 330,000. Reichenstein instantly tossed his cards to the middle of the table and the pot was pushed to DiVella.

Jared Bleznick
Jared Bleznick

We found Jared Bleznick shoving all in for 333,000 from the small blind on {3-Spades}{k-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Big blind Taylor Paur had put in 64,000. He confirmed the count and then made the call.

Taylor Paur: {k-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Jared Bleznick: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

The {9-Spades} turn brought some additional outs for Bleznick but the {6-Spades} river was a blank.

Saavedra Doubles Through Alaei

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Stephen Song raised it up to 14,000 and Manuel Saavedra Nunez moved all in for 123,000 from the small blind. Daniel Alaei reshoved out of the big blind for more than 370,000 and Song gave it some thought, but eventually folded.

Manuel Saavedra Nunez: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Daniel Alaei: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}

"Oh wow, you had me crushed," Song said from the other side of the table. Alaei took the lead on the {K-Spades}{J-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop, but the {A-Diamonds} turn and {10-Hearts} river run out let Saavedra double with a straight.

Song Doubles Through Volpe

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Stephen Song
Stephen Song

As the field was making their way out of the Amazon Room for their first break of the day, Paul Volpe and Stephen Song were still active in a big hand.

On the turn, the board read {2-Clubs}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and Volpe, in middle position, had a bet of 52,000 in front of him. Song made it 104,000 on the cutoff and Volpe called after some thought.

The river brought the {J-Clubs} and Volpe opted to lead out for 100,000. Song took around a minute before shoving all in for 226,000 and Volpe went deep in the tank. The camera's swooped in to catch the action and see Volpe eventually call it off after three minutes.

Song tabled {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} for a boat, Volpe flung his hand face-down in the muck and quickly headed out of the Amazon.
