Whittington Doubles Over a Million in Massive Pot

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Blake Whittington
Blake Whittington

According to Blake Whittington, Micah Smith opened from early position with a raise to 23,000 and Whittington flatted. Edward Sageer flatted behind bringing players three-ways to a flop.

The flop came down {Q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Smith checked. Whittington put out a bet of 28,000 and Sageer moved all in for a bit over 150,000. Smith flatted and Whittington flatted as well.

The turn was the {6-Hearts} and Smith decided to lead out, cutting out a bet of 175,000. Whittington thought for a long while before putting in the call.

On the {2-Spades} river, Smith moved all in with a covering stack on Whittington for about 250,000 effective. Whittington snap-called. Whittington revealed his {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs} for a rivered full house. Smith was holding {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for the flopped nut flush. So that meant Whittington earned a full double.

Sageer moved his purple monkey card protector, who he called Grapes, and revealed his {J-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for a flopped flush as well. That meant Whittington collected the main pot as well as double up to over one million chips.

Salas is the Short Stack on the Main Feature Table

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Damian Salas limped in on the button and Tony Miles raised to 45,000 in the small blind. Salas called and the flop came {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. Both players checked and the {7-Diamonds} landed on the turn.

Miles led out for 65,000 and Salas called to see the {k-Clubs} pair the board on the river. Miles fired another 150,000 and Salas called again. Miles turned over {a-}{k-} for kings full of aces and Salas sent his cards to the muck.

Here is a look at how the entire table stacks up.

Mach Shows the Bluff

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Farukh Tach and Jan Mach were heads up on the {8-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop and Tach checked. Mach tossed out a bet of 45,000 into a main pot of about 175,000.

Tach check-raised to 120,000 and Mach called. The dealer burned and turned the {q-Diamonds} and Tach fired out a bet of 117,000.

Mach called and the {k-Spades} completed the board and Tach checked. Mach moved all in for 386,000 and after giving it some thought Tach folded. Mach turned over his {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a stone cold bluff and scooped the pot.

Montizanti Eliminated by Kaplan in 2.4 Million Chip Pot

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Elizabeth Montizanti
Elizabeth Montizanti

From the hijack, Elizabeth Montizanti opened to 24,000 and both the small blind, and Jaime Kaplan called in the big blind.

The flop landed {2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{K-Spades} and both the small blind and Kaplan check to Montizanti who continued for 30,000. The small blind folded, but Kaplan check-raised to 95,000. Montizanti called, and when the turn landed the {3-Hearts}, Kaplan checked the action over to her again.

Montizanti pushed out a stack of orange 5,000-denomination chips for a bet of 100,000, and Kaplan responded with another check-raise; this time amounting to 300,000.

Montizanti announced she was all in for 1,060,000, and Kaplan quickly called having her covered with his 1,151,000 in chips.

Montizanti: {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Kaplan: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

In a cruel set-over-set situation for Montizanti, no one-outer would follow on the river as it fell the {Q-Diamonds}, and Montizanti was eliminated from the Main Event while Kaplan soared to nearly 2.5 million in chips.
