Leng is Punishing the Limpers

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Avi Drori limped in under the gun and action folded around to the button where recent bracelet winner Ryan Leng raised, making it 7,100. Action folded back to Drori and he called.

The flop was {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and both players checked to the {A-Diamonds} on the turn. There, Drori put out a bet of 8,000 and Leng called.

On the {Q-Hearts} river, Drori slowed down with a check. Leng put out a bigger bet of 26,600 and Drori quickly folded so Leng took down the pot to chip up early here on Day 3.

Kling Scores an Early Double

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

The cards of Adam Goldberg were already in the muck and he had just paid off the 20,500 of Lauren Kling, who doubled with ace-queen high holding the {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} on a board of {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}.

David Goodman was less fortunate and became one of the early casualties in the Amazon Tan section.

Mercier Eliminated by Dombrowski's Quads

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Jason Mercier (from Day 2)
Jason Mercier (from Day 2)

The action folded to Jason Mercier in the small blind, and he completed for 2,000. Chris Dombrowski plonked out a stack of chips to effectively put Mercier all-in, and the five-time WSOP bracelet winner snap-called for his 33,400 total.

Mercier: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Dombrowski: {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

The dealer spread a {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop to render Mercier drawing to just a jack to stay alive.

The turn of the {7-Clubs} changed little but gave Dombrowski outs to a flush, and when the river landed the {9-Diamonds} to give him quads, Mercier was headed out the door early here on Day 3.

One for Ashton

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

We picked up the action on the turn with the board showing {4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs} with roughly 23,000 already in the middle of the table. Matthew Ashton was first to act from the big blind and he checked it over to Mike Lancaster who decided to check behind.

The river was the {3-Clubs} and this time Ashton led out with a bet of 14,000. Lancaster tanked for a bit but eventually decided to fold. The former Poker Players Championship winner's stack is still down from where he started today but picking up this pot sent Ashton back in the right direction.

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Brian Altman
Brian Altman

Brian Altman raised to 4,500 from middle position and it folded to John Rocaberte in the big blind. Rocaberte moved all in for 50,200 and after verifying the chip count Altman called.

Brian Altman: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
John Rocaberte: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

It was a classic coin flip situation with Rocaberte at risk for his tournament life. The board ran out {j-Spades}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Altman pocket tens held up to earn him the pot and the knockout.

Rocaberte was eliminated and Altman climbed over the half million chip mark.

Henry Forces Fold

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Among those to bust on Day 3 in the Amazon Tan section were Michael Kirkpatrick and Grant Foster, the former mentioning an ace-king into aces exit on the way out.

Prince Cassell won a flip for his last 27,100 with {5-Hearts}{5-Spades} against the {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} of Kai Cai on a board of {Q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.

Last but not least, Oystein Stai bet the {J-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} turn for 50,000 with less than that behind and Nathan Henry moved all in with his big stack. Stai gave it some thought and folded.

Nicholas Dashineau raised to 5,000 from the button and Govert Metaal three-bet to 14,000 in the big blind. Dashineau called.

The flop came {8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Metaal continued with a bet of 10,000 which Dashineau called.
