McDonald Builds Stack

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Mike McDonald limped in from the small blind and Jonathan Ulrich raised it up to 3,500, McDonald called. Both checked the {10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop and McDonald bet 4,000 on the {9-Clubs} turn, Ulrich called. On the {9-Spades} river, McDonald bet 6,000 and was called once more to flip over {7-Spades}{5-Spades} for nines and sevens. That was good enough to win the pot for the Canadian.

Guagenti Eliminated

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

After an open to 2,500 in middle position and a three-bet to 6,900 out of the hijack, Nick Guagenti shoved from the small blind for 29,900. The middle-position opener reshoved and folded out the third player.

Nick Guagenti: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

Guagenti was smashed and things worsened on the {9-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} flop, with the {7-Spades} ending Guagenti's miniscule hopes on the turn.

Reard Continues To Climb

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Alexandre Reard was involved in a bigger three-way pot in which he raised and called a three-bet along with one further player. The flop of {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} was checked and Reard bet the {Q-Diamonds} turn for 11,000, both opponents called.

After the {6-Hearts} river, Reard made it 19,000 to go. Only Vivek Rughani called, but mucked when he was shown the {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} by Reard.

Lampropulos Takes From Mateos

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Maria lampropulous
Maria lampropulous

Both Adrian Mateos and Maria Lampropolus have seen their chip stacks swing up and down today, but the latter has just been able to claw some back.

Lampropulos opened the action with a raise from early position and both the player on the button and Mateos in the big blind called. The flop came down {5-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{10-Spades}, and all three players checked to see the {10-Diamonds} turn. Mateos led with a 3,600 bet and Lampropulos called before the button player folded.

On the {6-Diamonds} river, Mateos bet 5,300 only to see Lampropulos raise to 25,000. Mateos needed a couple of minutes to think through his decision before he gave up and the Argentinian Lampropulos picked up the pot.

Reategui Encounters Some Resistance

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

The action folded around to Anthony Reategui in the small blind who raised it up to 3,000. Rens Feenstra called from the big blind and the flop came {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts}.

Reategui led out for 1,500 and Feenstra raised to 7,000. Reategui reraised to 21,500 only to have Feenstra put in a four-bet to 55,000. Reategui is often the one to push around his opponents at the table with some aggressive play, but Feenstra decided to push back this time. Reategui let his hand go and Feenstra raked in the pot.
