Boeree Moves Over 100K

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante
Liv Boeree
Liv Boeree

The board read {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} with just under 20,000 in the middle. Liv Boeree checked from middle position and Greg Candido tossed in a bet of 10,000 directly to her left. Boeree check-raised all in to put Candido to the test for his remaining 17,500 chips.

He thought for a good minute before finally making the call. Boeree tabled {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for two pair which was ahead of Candido's {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}. The river was the {6-Hearts} and Boeree held on to eliminate Candido and move over the 100,000 chip mark.

Mike Leah has been sitting to Boeree's right since the start of the day and has slowly chipped up himself to over 50,000.

Obsts Drops One

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Gediminas Garmus was first to act from the big blind on a flop of {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. Garmus checked over to James Obst. Obst put out a bet of 1,200 into a pot of roughly 3,500. Garmus called.

The turn was the {4-Hearts} and both players checked to see the {2-Clubs} on the river. There, Garmus put out a bet of 3,700 and without hesitation, Obst called. Garmus showed down his {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for trips and that would earn him the pot as Obst mucked.

Maor Shows Aces

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Daniel Maor opened in the middle position and Jiri Horak defended his big blind. They both checked the {8-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop and Horak led out 1,700 on the {9-Diamonds} turn. Maor called to see the {3-Spades} river where Horak blasted another 5,200. Maor quickly called and Horak turned up {K-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for a busted open-ender. Maor tabled {A-Spades}{A-Clubs} and increased his solid chip-stack.

Mateos Continues Comeback

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

The player in the cutoff opened with a raise and both Adrian Mateos on the button and the player in the big blind called. On the {5-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{q-Spades} flop both players checked to Mateos, and he bet 3,000. The big blind called and the cutoff raised to 8,000. Mateos made the call and the big blind folded.

On the {10-Spades} turn Mateos saw his 8,000 bet check-called, and when the river came the {6-Spades} river hit both players checked.

Adrian Mateos: {k-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Opponent: {j-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Mateos took the pot with two pair and continued his comeback as he is now sat with 90,000.

Papadopoulos Shoves and Wins

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Kyriakos Papadopoulos had well over 100,000 earlier but is on life support now. In one recent pot, he swept up some much-needed chips by jamming for 10,000 in the small blind over a hijack limp and a button raise to 2,300. Those players gave it up and the WPT500 champion remains alive in the Main Event.

Fernandez Picks Off a Bluff

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

On a board of {3-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}, Leo Fernandez checked from the big blind and Bjorn Li bet 20,000 from under the gun. Fernandez thought awhile, counted out his stack and called. Li simply mucked.

"You want to see?" Fernandez asked.

One player said he did but Li shook his head.

"He said no," Fernandez said, following Li into the muck.

Moreira de Melo Takes From Lamagnere

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante
Fatima Moreira de Melo
Fatima Moreira de Melo

Fatima Moreira de Melo has just been moved to Table #25 here in the Brasilia room and managed to pick up a pot immediately.

Moreira de Melo raised to 1,700 from the button and Matthieu Lamagnere called in the big blind.

The flop came {4-Spades}{q-Spades}{5-Hearts}, Lamagnere check-raised to 5,400 when Moreira de Melo continued with a bet of 2,200. Moreira de Melo called.

The turn brought them the {8-Hearts}, Lamagnere now took the initiative to bet 8,500. Moreira de Melo looked at Lamagnere and then made the call.

The river completed the board with the {6-Spades}, Lamagnere's continuation-bet of 13,200 was called by Moreira de Melo without much hesitation. Lamagnere showed {6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for the pair of sixes on the river. Moreira de Melo tabled {q-Clubs}{7-Clubs} though for the rivered straight to win the whole pot.

Kempe Takes a Big Hit

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante
Rainer Kempe
Rainer Kempe

Plenty of chips were already in the middle as Luis Pinho in the small blind had a reraise to 11,000 in front and Rainer Kempe in middle position had called. Tu Huynh in the cutoff moved all in for 67,400 and Pinho folded reluctantly.

"Let's hope you have ace king," Kempe announced and called for pretty much half of his stack.

Tu Huynh: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Rainer Kempe: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

Kempe's pocket pair was dominated and the board of {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{6-Hearts} changed nothing whatsoever.

"You folded ace king?" Kempe asked over to Pinho, but received no reply.

No Value For Charania

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante
Mohsin Charania on Day 1c
Mohsin Charania on Day 1c

Everybody folded to Mohsin Charania in the cutoff and he raised to 1,700. Kliment Tarmakov defended his big blind and both went heads-up to the flop.

Charania continued with a bet of 1,500 on the {7-Spades}{J-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop after Tarmakov had checked to him, but even that was too much for the Canadian to call so he folded.

Charania opened up {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} while he raked in the small pot.
