Baker Makes The Fold Against Hesp

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante
John Hesp
John Hesp

The flop read {9-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Hearts} and John Hesp bet 2,300 from the hijack into a pot around 6,300. The cutoff opponent folded and David "ODB" Baker made the call from the button.

The {7-Hearts} fell on the turn, Hesp bet 3,500 and Baker thought for several moments before making the call. The river fell the {8-Diamonds} and Hesp starting laughing hysterically before firing a bet of 6,000.

Baker said,"I think you have king-jack or queen-jack" as he smiled back at Hesp. "It must be queen-jack or king-jack, I want to see this one" announced Baker. Hesp obliged, turning over {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for a river straight and pretty close to what Baker had in mind for a read.

Boatman Takes a Small Hit

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

After a raise to 600 and two callers, Barny Boatman called out of the small blind and Orlando Moretti made it 2,100 to go from the big blind. Only Boatman called and checked the {8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop before calling a bet worth 1,300. On the {A-Clubs} turn, Boatman checked once more and called after Moretti fired a second barrel worth 2,100. Both checked the {6-Hearts} on the river and Moretti tabled the {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} as the winning hand.

"Good turn," Boatman admitted and sent his cards into the muck.

Max Silver Has Work to Do

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

Max Silver is another player in the Amazon Orange section that already lost a bunch of his initial 50,000 stack. Silver did win a little bit back though after winning a pot from his left neighbor.

Silver raised to 900 from the button and he was called by the player in the big blind. The {5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop was dealt and both players checked. The turn was the {10-Diamonds} and Silver called a 1,000 bet from the player in the big blind. The river was the {Q-Clubs} and the big blind put in another 1,000. Silver called again.

The player in the big blind showed {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} and Silver showed {J-Spades}{10-Clubs} for the winning hand.
