Henson Takes Over the Betting

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

There was a raise to 1,200 from under the gun, a late position opponent three-bet to 3,600, and Ray Henson called from the hijack. The initial raiser made the call and the flop came down {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}.

The action checked to the late-position raiser who bet 3,500 and both of his opponents made the call. The turn fell the {9-Hearts}. Action checked to Henson who fired 12,500 into the pot.

Everyone folded and Henson scooped in a decent-size pot, adding some more chips to his stack.

Deeb Takes From Hartree

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante
Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb

Shaun Deeb raised to 1,000 under the gun and it was called by the cutoff and Kyle Hartree in the big blind.

The flop appeared {j-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and the three players checked. The turn fell a {4-Clubs} and Hartree bet 1,700. Deeb raised it to 5,500 and the action folded back to Hartree who made the call.

The river showed a {5-Clubs} and after some consideration, both players checked. Hartree turned over {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} and mucked when Deeb tabled {4-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for two pair.

Machina Flops a Set to Eliminate McEwen

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

There was already about 10,000 in the main pot on the {k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop and Morgan Machina bet. Preston McEwen moved all in for his last 16,000 and Machina snap-called.

McEwen turned over {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} but Machina had flopped middle set holding {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}. The turn {8-Hearts} and river {2-Spades} were no help to McEwen and he wished the table "good luck" as he made his exit.

MacPhee Lays it Down

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

Kevin MacPhee was in a tough spot on the river. On a {j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} board, he bet 6,400 and was re-raised to 24,000. MacPhee tanked for a couple of minutes before reluctantly making a fold.

Two-times bracelet winner still has more chips than he did an hour ago, despite losing that pot.

Somerville is Peaking

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante
Jason Somerville in a previous event
Jason Somerville in a previous event

Jason Somerville dwindled down from the 50,000 starting stack to only 34,000. After winning a pot against Christopher Kusha he's now peaking in the tournament with 57,000.

Somerville raised from middle position to 1,100 and when it folded to Kusha on the small blind he three-bet to 3,700. Somerville called and the two saw the {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{K-Clubs} flop.

Kusha continued showing aggression by betting 2,600 on the flop and Somerville called again. The turn was the {7-Hearts} and Somerville called another bet, this time of 6,400.

When the {2-Hearts} river rolled off the deck, Kusha checked to Somerville who put in all of his orange 5,000 chips, enough to put Kusha all in for effectively 16,275. Kusha folded and Somerville could start stacking his chips.

Counts and Small Hands From the Amazon Gold Section

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

Kristofer Homerding faced a bet of 12,500 on the river of a board {4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{A-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and eventually called to get shown the {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. Homerding had missed a flush draw with the {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} but chopped it up thanks to the board to preserve his big stack.

Ryan Riess won a small pot against Darryll Fish when betting the river of a board {10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for 2,800. Fish gave it some thought and called, but nodded and mucked as soon as Riess rolled over {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for top pair.

Hieu Luu raised to 1,050 on the button and fellow big stack Steven Snyder called in the big blind. The duo checked the {K-Spades}{4-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop and Snyder bet the {6-Clubs} turn for 1,200. Luu raised it up to 4,000 and claimed the pot without further resistance.

Last but not least, Rafael Moraes grinded up his stack once more after being left with half the starting stack not long ago. On the three-way flop of {10-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}, Moraes was the only one to call the bet of 2,100 by Justin Allen, who then checked the {5-Spades} turn. Moraes bet 5,800 and won the pot right there.

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

David Kluchman found himself all in for around 15,500 and with one caller in Angel Cordero. The two turned over their hands and Kluchman found himself in a bad spot.

Angel Cordero: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
