Zamani Takes One Down

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

Jason Kolbe raised to 1,100 from late position and Ben Zamani reraised to 2,500 from the button. Kolbe called and they went heads-up to the {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop. Kolbe checked, Zamani threw out a bet of 1,800, and Kolbe quickly folded.

Gardner Scores a Triple-Up

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

We arrived at the table when the board already had four cards on it, but Robert McKeithen was kind enough to fill us in on the earlier action in the hand once it was over.

Preflop, there was a raise to 1,100 and five people called. The flop was {Q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and William Gardner bet 4,000 when it folded to him. McKeithen and another player called and the turn was the {3-Clubs}.

At this moment it checked to Gardner who put in 10,000 and McKeithen pushed all in. The third player in the hand pushed all in as well and the decision was back on Gardner. He called after a while and the cards went on their backs.

Gardner was holding {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} for a flopped set, but he wasn't in particularly good shape against the {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} of McKeithen and the {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} of the other player involved in the hand.

The river card was the {7-Hearts} and that gave Gardner a full house. There was a small side pot and McKeithen got half of that, but the majority of the chips went to Gardner who's now sitting pretty on a 130,000 stack.

Friendly Pot Beetween Mercier and Kanit

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

The action folded to Mustapha Kanit in the small blind who completed and Jason Mercier checked. "Friendly pot," said Kanit before adding after a flop {6-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} fell, "not friendly anymore!"

Kanit bet 400 and it was enough to make Mercier quickly fold, saying "OK, show me a queen now."

Kanit tabled {7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} with an "eight high, bro!" which made the table laugh.

The board was out and {4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{q-Spades}{j-Hearts} was on show. Play was heads-up and Arthur Morris faced a bet of 13,000. "You got the nuts?" he asked, as he made a quick call and turned over {k-Spades}{9-Spades}. His opponent mucked and Morris collected the pot, his upward trend continuing.

Lary Doubles Up

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

There was already nearly 5,000 in the main pot when Justin Lary moved all in on the {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for 5,625. Roman Kagan called, turning over {k-Hearts}{q-Spades} for top pair, but Lary showed {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for middle set.

Kagan picked up some additional outs when the {q-Clubs} hit the turn but the {6-Diamonds} river sealed the deal for Lary who doubled up.

Sexton's Ace is Not Good

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

A player opened to 900 and only Mike Sexton made the call from the big blind. The flop came {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and both players checked.

The turn brought a {5-Spades} and Sexton bet 1,000. His opponent called and the river {q-Diamonds} brought no betting action. Sexton tabled {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a pair of aces but mucked when his opponent showed {a-Spades}{k-Hearts} for a better kicker.
