After finding resistance on two previous streets, Michael Addamo on the button bet 16,000 into a pot of as many chips with the river reading and his opponent in the small blind gave it some thought before releasing his cards.
Valentin Vornicu, who is well known to run up stacks rather quickly, however, experienced the quite opposite fate. After three limpers, Vornicu in the cutoff made it 1,700 to go with 11,000 behind and the big blind reraised to 5,300. That was enough to scare away everyone including the current record WSOP circuit ring winner.
