De Silva Takes From Schneider

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

The board read {6-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and Upeshka De Silva had checked from the big blind. Stephen Schneider was sitting on the button and bet 15,000. De Silva went through the options in his head and then decided to make the call. Schneider showed {k-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for the missed straight draw and De Silva had him beat with {7-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for two pair, fours and treys, to win the pot.

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante
Maria Ho
Maria Ho

Brian Hastings, Kenny Hallaert, and Chad Power are seated side by side at Table #412 in the Amazon Gold section. This was already shaping up to be one of the toughest tables in the room and a new player has just joined them.

Maria Ho has taken her seat at the table, and with this talented group of players sharing the felt, there's plenty of potential for a monster pot to develop in the near future.

Gold Should Have Been Out

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante
Jamie Gold
Jamie Gold

Ben Maya, last year's $1,500 Shootout Champion, has joined the same table as Jamie Gold and Pierre Calamusa.

Gold said he should have been out as he had played a hand against Calamusa.

"Calamusa had {q-}{q-} and I had {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}. The flop came {j-}{j-}{q-} and there were four of us in the hand with 12,000 in the pot. We all checked to Calamusa who bet 3,000, I raised to 6,000, and he called. The turn was {k-}. I check-call the 12,000 bet. The river was a {8-} or {7-}, not sure, it was a brick. Rainbow board. I check. Calamusa put me all in for like 24,000. I fold after like two seconds. I said that it absolutely sucked but I'm not giving you the rest of my chips! Calamusa himself said that he bet too much and was a bit annoyed that I didn't call."

While Gold was telling the live reporting team about this hand. he was involved in a hand against Maya.

Gold raised to 800 from mid-position and was called by Maya on the button and the player in the big blind.

They all checked through the {j-Clubs}{k-Spades}{7-Spades} on the flop to the {7-Hearts} on the turn. The big blind check-folded to Gold's bet of 1,000 and Maya called.

The river completed the board with the {3-Diamonds}, Gold fired another 1,000 over the line, and Maya raised to 6,000 without hesitating. Gold considered it for a while but let his hand go in the end.

Deeb Wins a Small Pot

Level 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

Shaun Deeb opened from under the gun to 800 and it was raised to 1,700 from the player one seat over. The action folded back to Deeb who made the call.

The flop fell {3-Spades}{5-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} and both players checked. The turn {4-Diamonds} brought no more action and the {j-Spades} completed the board on the river. Deeb made a bet for 2,300 and his opponent quickly mucked her cards.
