Nguyen Chipping Up

Level 5 : 250/500, 75 ante

It has been all Chris Fraser and Matt Berkey here on Day 1 in the Amazon Gold section, but another player is chipping up. Truyen Nguyen has flown a bit under the radar but he has quietly amassed one of the largest stacks in the room.

Nguyen is now playing about 220,000 and will look to finish strong with less than one level of play left in the night.

The river came down the {6-Diamonds} and Metaal fired out a massive bet of 22,650. Myers threw his cards in the muck and Metaal announced, "I don't have aces!" as he turned up {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs} for quad cowboys.

Shawn Daniels raised to 1,200 from middle position and Romain Lewis called from the big blind. The flop was {6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and both players checked.

Lewis fired out a bet of 2,000 on the {10-Spades} and Daniels called to see the {K-Clubs} river complete the board. Lewis threw in a 5,000 chip and Daniels had to think about for a moment. After about a minute he called and Lewis opened up {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for the winning hand. Daniels mucked.
