Stone Takes from Shak

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

A player in early position raised to 1,000 and Katie Stone called. Dan Shak called from the big blind and they went three-handed to the {q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop. It checked to Stone who threw out a bet of 1,000 and Shak called.

They went heads-up to the {3-Clubs} turn and Shak check-called a bet of 1,000. Both players checked the {5-Hearts} river and Stone turned over {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for queens and sevens with a jack kicker. Shak flashed only his {q-Spades} and Stone took the pot.

Jacks Are Good

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

Anthony Newman opened to 900 from middle position. Seth Brown called on the button.

The dealer spread a flop of {10-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Newman continued for 1,000. Brown called. The turn was the {8-Spades} and was checked around to the {2-Clubs} river. Both players opted to check again and Newman showed {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. Brown revealed {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts} to rake in the pot.

Van Sanford Makes a Huge Call on the River

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante
Ryan Van Sanford
Ryan Van Sanford

The board read {9-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} at the turn and Ryan Van Sanford checked to Kilian Loeffler who bet 10,000 into a pot of about 50,000. Van Sanford made the call and the river fell the {2-Hearts}.

Van Sanford checked again. Loeffler moved all in for almost 30,000 — enough to cover Van Sanford. After several minutes of thought, Van Sanford made the call for his remaining 28,375 and showed {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} for kings over twos.

His opponent said, "Nice call," as he mucked {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} face up, and Van Sanford took down the pot, leaving his opponent with crumbs.

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

Bruce Russell and his opponent were heads-up on the {j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop. Russell bet 900 into a main pot of about 3,000 and his opponent raised to 2,000. With the action back on Russell, he made it 5,000 and his opponent folded.

"I'll show just this once," said Russell, turning over {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for top pair and the nut flush draw as he dragged in the pot.

Schindler Busts Fair

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

The cards were all but rushed away, but the ESPN crew was there to witness Ryan Fair's elimination after he called the shove of Jake Schindler on a jack-high turn with pocket aces. Schindler had flopped an open-ended straight draw with the {5-}{4-} and got there on the turn to leave Fair drawing dead.
