Seymour Calls With Two Pair

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante
Richard Seymour
Richard Seymour

Antonio Payne raised to 900 from late position and Richard Seymour called from the button. The player in the small blind called as well and the {A-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop came down.

All three players checked on the flop to see the {3-Spades} turn and the big blind checked to Payne. Payne put in a bet of 1,000 and Seymour raised to 3,000. The player in the big blind folded and the action was back on Payne and he went for a three-bet of 10,200. Seymour took his time and called.

The river was the {J-Hearts} and Payne lead out for 12,000. Seymour called and Payne rolled over {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}. Seymour then tabled {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for two pair and he took down the pot.

One table over, Jennifer Harman sat down and she seems to have lost some chips already.

Frasca Keeps Building

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

John Beauprez opened to 800 under the gun. Quyen Phan, in middle position, called, along with Brian Frasca in the hijack, the player on the cutoff, and the blinds.

The flop came {2-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}. The blinds checked and Beauprez bet 2,100. Phan and Frasca called, along with the player on the cutoff. The small blind folded and the big blind called.

The turn brought the {8-Spades}. The player in the big blind, Beauprez, and Phan checked. Frasca bet 4,500. Phan was the only one to stick around with a call.

The river came the {9-Clubs}. Phan checked. Frasca fired 14,500 and Phan went deep into the tank, but proceeded to make the call. Frasca tabled {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for a rivered full house. Phan sent her hand to the muck.

Griffin Eliminates Black, Adds to His Already Healthy Stack

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

The board read {8-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{q-Spades}, Robert Black bet around 6,000, and Gavin Griffin moved him all in for his remaining 23,500. Black thought for a few moments and then made the call.

Black tabled {q-}{j-} for a pair of queens and Griffin turned over {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for the nut straight, eliminating Black and securing the pot.

Gavin Griffin is the first player ever to win a WSOP, WPT, and EPT event for a triple crown. He will be looking to make a deep run and add Main Event champ to his resume.

Hachem Straightens Out His Opponent

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante
Joe Hachem
Joe Hachem

A player in middle position limped in and Joe Hachem raised to 1,200 from the button. The small blind called and the middle-position player called behind. They went three-handed to the {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} flop and the action checked around.

The turn was the {10-Spades} and it checked to Hachem who bet 2,000. The small blind called and they went heads-up to the {10-Clubs} river. The small blind checked and Hachem bet 4,000. After giving it some thought, the player called and Hachem tabled {k-Spades}{q-Hearts} for a turned straight to take the pot.

Fraser Busts Andler Set Over Set

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante
Chris Fraser
Chris Fraser

The action started with a raise to 750 by Brian Rast and Chris Fraser from one seat over bumped it up to 2,100. Christopher Andler called on the button and Rast also came along to see a flop of {J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}. Rast checked and Fraser bet 5,000. Andler raised it up to 15,000 and Rast quickly folded, but Fraser called.

On the {K-Spades} turn, Fraser checked and Andler moved all in for what appeared to be 40,000, Fraser snap-called by tossing in a single chip.

Christopher Andler: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Chris Fraser: {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

While Andler flopped best, he only had one out to remain in contention with Fraser turning the superior set, and a blank {Q-Clubs} on the river was of no help for the Swede. Fraser, in the meantime, has jumped up to more than three times the starting stack, trailing only Matt Berkey in the Gold section.

Phan Gets Value From McKeehen

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

The board was {9-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Joe McKeehen faced an 8,500 bet from Quyen Phan. The pot was already around 24,000 and McKeehen counted out the amount for a call.

As soon as McKeehen had counted it out, he put the chips back on his stack and took another peek at his cards. Then he decided to call and put the chips in, but he sent his hand to the muck when Phan showed him {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.
