Hands #16-22: Wei Doubles Through Pecheux

Level 33 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante
Guoliang Wei
Guoliang Wei

Hand #16: Guoliang Wei opened to 325,000 in late position and Erwann Pecheux made it 1.25 million from the big blind. After several seconds, Wei moved all in for about 4 million more and Pecheux called to put Wei at risk.

Pecheux: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Wei: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}

The {5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{9-Hearts} flop was safe for Pecheux, but the {A-Hearts} turn was what Wei was looking for. It gave him a bigger pair and a higher flush redraw. The {7-Diamonds} river was insignificant and Wei scooped a big double up as the two flip-flopped stacks.

Hand #17: Richard Douglas raised to 325,000 from early position and Francois Tosque defended his big blind. On the {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} flop, Tosque check-folded to a bet of 450,000 from Douglas.

Hand #18: Sung Joo Hyun opened to 375,000 from middle position and all his opponents folded.

Hand #19: Pecheux raised the cutoff to 275,000 and Jon Hoellein called in the small blind, as did Douglas in the big blind. The flop came {10-Clubs}{K-Spades}{J-Clubs} and Hoellein checked. Douglas bet 250,000 and Pecheux and Hoellein folded.

Hand #20: Renato Kaneoya limped in early position, Douglas completed in the small blind and Wei checked his option. On the {7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} flop, Douglas and Wei checked and Kaneoya bet 175,000. Douglas folded, but Wei put in a check-raise to 450,000, and that was enough to get Kaneoya to fold.

Hand #21: Chris Staats raised to 400,000 from early position and took down the blinds and antes.

Hand #22: Kaneoya got a walk in his big blind.

Hands #11-15: Wei Shoves Twice

Level 33 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Hand #11: Joe Hoellein limped the small blind, Richard Douglas shoved the big blind and Hoellein folded.

Hand #12: Francois Tosques raised to 325,000 from the cutoff, Guoliang Wei three-bet shoved from the big blind and Tosques folded.

Hand #13: Christopher Staats raised to 400,000 from early position and Sung Joo Hyun defended his big blind. Hyun check-called 250,000 on the {5-Spades}{Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs} flop. The turn was the {8-Spades} and Hyun led out for 650,000, which Staats called.

The {4-Clubs} on the river got quickly checked. Hyun showed {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for just ace-high, Staats showed {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and won the hand.

Hand #14: Erwann Pecheux raised to 325,000 from early position and Renato Kaneoya called from the big blind. Pecheux bet 275,000 on the {6-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop and received a call.

Pecheux went for a second barrel of 650,000 on the {3-Hearts} turn and Kaneoya once again called. On the {3-Hearts} river, the Brazilian led out for 1,000,000 and Pecheux gave it up.

Hand #15: Wei raised to 360,000 in the cutoff, Kaneoya three-bet to 1,400,000 in the small blind, Wei four-bet shoved around 3,100,000 and Kaneoya folded.
