Mirzikinian Gets Three-Quarters

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 800 ante

Big O

On a flop of {Q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}, Warwick Mirzikinian was announcing a pot-sized bet. He was in position and big blind Joey Couden called while Mike Matusow released his hand.

The {8-Hearts} turn saw both players stuff the chips in and the cards were turned up.

Warwick Mirzikinian: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Joey Couden: {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Spades}

Both had made a nut low and chopped the low half but the river card was a heart and Mirzikinian filled his flush draw. He scooped three-quarters of more than 150,000-chip pot and play carried on.

Hennigan Fires a Min-Raise

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 1,000 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

John Hennigan raised to 6,000 in the cutoff and his left-hand opponent Ray Henson called. Hennigan continued for 6,000 on the {10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} flop and Henson called again.

The {4-Hearts} turn double paired the board and Hennigan checked this time. Henson fired 13,500 but Hennigan countered with a raise, making it 27,000. Henson released his hand and let the pot go to Hennigan.

Rogers Quarters Lisandro

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 1,000 ante

Big O

Jeff Lisandro check-called 5,000 on the flop and 12,000 on the turn as the board ran out {j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{j-Clubs}{3-Clubs} against Aaron Rogers. On the river, Lisandro check-called 44,000.

"Nut-nut," Rogers announced, showing {a-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{j-Spades}{4-Spades}{8-Clubs} for jacks full and the nut low.

Lisandro also had nut low along with trips: {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. He got a quarter of the pot.

Matusow Shoves and Can't Get There

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 1,000 ante

NL 2-7 Single Draw

Marcel Vonk made it 8,000 and Mike Matusow shoved all in for 40,000 or so. Vonk called and Matusow knew he would need some help.

Vonk patted and Matusow drew two, saying he was dealt two sevens and two deuces.

Vonk opened {10-}{9-}{6-}{5-}{4-} and Matusow showed {7-}{6-}{2-}. He slowly peeled his remaining two cards and one of them looked to be an {A-}. Matusow didn't show his hand and mucked, finishing in 17th place.

Harkin Sends Difelice Packing

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 1,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

Just seconds after Mike Matusow's departure, Alex Difelice lost his tournament life on one of the neighboring tables.

Difelice was down to a nub after a previous loss to Jeremy Harkin and Harkin eventually scooped the rest of Difelice's chips.

Harkin made a queen-high flush on a Broadway-heavy board and Difelice couldn't beat it with {K-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{X-}.

Hennigan Quarters Henson for Stacks

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 1,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

John Hennigan and Ray Henson got stacks in on {6-Hearts}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. Each held the nut low but Hennigan's {a-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{2-Spades} was good for sixes on the high half while Henson had {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for an unpaired hand. The river was the {3-Spades} and Hennigan took a chunk out of Henson.

Mirzikinian Eliminates Couden

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 1,000 ante
Joey Couden
Joey Couden

Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

Warwick Mirzikinian three-bet to 20,000 or so preflop out of the small blind and Joey Couden called. The flop came {a-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Mirzikinian potted for 45,200.

"All right," Couden said after thinking briefly. "I'll put it in."

He jammed his roughly 75,000 in and turned over {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades} for aces and a low draw. Mirzikinian had {a-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for aces and an inferior kicker but with a flush draw and a stronger low draw. The {7-Clubs} turn filled both of Mirzikinian's draws and the {j-Clubs} river was of no consequence.
